Why do we keep using TCU's language for our hire? TCU thinks Trent is a homerun hire.

Too many LSU fans want to make a splash today. All of that will be forgotten by the time we are in November and football is in the top 10. No matter who is hired, the next hc will make his mark from December to March next year and beyond. Not April 2012.

I like Donnie --a lot. However, he needs to make a step up from low major to mid major, before an SEC school should look at him.

Was Marshall a mid major when Billy Donovan was there? Was Boston University when Providence hired him? Texas A&M just hired Billy Kennedy from Murray State....same league.

I get your point, but those guys had a lot more experience than Tyndall. Kennedy had been a head coach at 3 schools and Donovan had been at UK.

He can go big from Morehead, just tougher to get a gig.

Samford to LSU is expectable (Brady) but Morehead State to LSU isn't? He would be a great hire for our program. Donnie can recruit but on top of that he can really coach. Look at what he has done at Morehead State. 3 straight 20 winning seasons (20, 24, 25) and 4 straight winning seasons. He had a first round draft pick last at Morehead in Kenneth Faried. He was also here and helped recruit Jabari and Stromile. It would be a great hire and on top of that he knows LSU!

While at Idaho, Tyndall helped the Vandals land the nation’s No. 15 recruiting class in 2002.

During his tenure at LSU, Tyndall helped recruit three classes that were ranked among the top 25 nationally. In 2000, LSU won the Southeastern Conference and advanced to the Sweet 16. Three of his recruits went on to play in the NBA, five earned All-SEC honors and five were named Academic All-SEC. As the Tigers’ academic coordinator, he helped improve the basketball team’s grade point average from 1.7 in 1996 to 2.7 in 2001.

I'm a fan. I've always liked him. Just think LSU needs to go bigger this time.

Tyndal's Main Asst. Coach - Wade O'Connor...nice background also

Before his stop at St. Catharine, O’Connor spent 10 years among the Division I coaching ranks. From 1994-96, he was on Billy Donovan’s staff at Marshall. The Thundering Herd won the Northern Division of the Southern Conference in their first season together.

From 1996-2000, O’Connor spent time on Oliver Purnell’s staff at Dayton. In 1997-98, Dayton went 21-12 and earned a bid to the National Invitational Tournament (NIT). The Flyers made the NCAA Tournament two seasons later after winning the Atlantic-10 Conference’s Western Division with 22 victories.

O’Connor was the recruiting coordinator at Tulane from 2000-04. He helped develop Linton Johnson, who spent time with the NBA’s Phoenix Suns. O’Connor’s 2002-03 recruiting class was ranked 29th in the country.
