I think almost any starting pitcher can throw a no-hitter. You just have to have that one day where you are totally in the zone. Freakin Jim Abbott threw a no no.
But this is a stupid question.

In the past the metal bats have made no-hitters in college baseball very rare
Off of immediate recollection, I can only think of a couple games where an LSU was pitcher was close (correct me if I'm wrong)......
Lloyd Peever sometime in the 90's against Ole Miss came pretty close.
SEC tournament a couple years ago (2010 maybe?) (I think the opponent was Ole Miss or Auburn), can't remember the pitcher, I think it was someone who hadn't really pitched much.

Your post history is comedy gold. I love it.

I don't recall many where LSU pitchers seriously flirted with a no-hitter. It was just so difficult with those bats in the past.

How much you wanna make a bet I can throw a baseball over them mountains?

I think it would be very hard for him to do. Nola is a strike thrower and is always around the plate. He's gonna give up some hits.
He's faced 168 batters with 1 WP, 4 BB and 46 SO, the kid is having an insane year other than his rough 1st inning in his 1st SEC start vs MSU. I was thinking he might be giving up the most HR per batters faced but is actually right there with Eades. Nola is a machine on the mound, what a difference a high quality consistent strike thrower makes on Sundays.

Theoretically, any pitcher can throw a no-hitter or a perfect game.
Armando Galarraga was average at best when he threw his *perfect game (asterisk for Jim Joyce) a couple years ago.
Does Nola have the potential? I'd say at this level, with a little more experience under Dunn, his odds are better than most.

I didn't say he couldn't do it. It's just hard when every pitch is around the plate.

Against a really good Ole Miss team who swept us earlier in the season too. Also during one of the worst pitching years LSU has had in recent memory.

I didn't say he could, he has to go 9 innings to even worry about although with his high strike count he could do it.
What you want, more "wild in the strike zone" action???

Nola isn't allowed to pitch 9 innings. Just sayin'!

Which would be smart policy for someone that already has had a tired shoulder/arm.
