It's obvious most want to get rid of TJ, abandon his improvements/progress over the last few years, hire someone new, and wait another 4yrs for that coach to improve the program. Of course, the new coach wouldn't last that long because we'll want him fired when he hasn't led us to an undefeated first season. It's genius

are these guys simply not good, or can Trent just not develop players?
Both

So how long do you think it should take to turn around a sport that only has 5 people on a court at a given time?....I think people do think there was improvement made but trents recruiting or lack thereof has people doubtful about even the short term future....Storm and Malcom white are gone after this year and we missed on Gathers and there dont seem to be any guys coming in to be able to give us some quality minutes in their place...Are we really going to be any better next year?

Has the team improved this year,
people keep saying this.
for 1, our teams were so bad the last 2 years, it is hard not to "improve". Just because the team has shown 'improvement' doesn't mean that it is all positive
for 2, for me to say this team has shown 'improvement', I would think that some players from last years team would at least have to improve. And that hasn't happened!!! Not one damn player has improved!
How can anyone sit here and confidently say "just wait, we'll imrprove again next year"? You cant rely on a good transfer player and 2 very solid recruits every year to bail you out. THE PLAYERS ON YOUR TEAM MUST GET BETTER!! and they havent.

It's gonna take time to bring this program to that level pal, because even in the Dale Brown era we were never a perennial legit contender.
I seriously beg to differ. We contended for and won the conference. Won in the tourney. And made the 16, 8 and final 4 on more than one occasion.

Agree, but team is bettet.

We beat a good State team team but the rest of the teams were not good at all in the sec win streak. Can't count Bama either. So saying we improved is kind of dumb.

SEC is weak, but you beat who's in front of you. Bama was down in football too, remember ?

better than what?
for every decent win we have, we have 5 bad losses.
we just lost by 20+ to Ole Miss

Yeah going from 12th in the league to 4th entering today isn't improving. That is a pretty dumb statement. You're right.

I get what you're saying, but does this make sense? Even if we go undefeated in the SEC, there's a possibility we still suck because none of the teams we beat were "good"?

He obviously didn't live the Dale Brown era.
We challenged UK's dominance.

How many SEC titles did we have under Brown? How many sweet 16s?
In 25 years, we made it to 5 sweet 16s and won FOUR SEC Titles.
That's a perennial contender to yall?
LSU's basketball history may be exciting but it is not NEARLY as accomplished as some of you remember it.
Posted on 2/25/12 at 3:29 pm to Mickey Goldmill
From 1979 to 1992 LSU was indeed a "perennial contender".

you're talking to some 19-20 year old kid that doesnt know shite

Under the same time span that we had Dale Brown, Kentucky made it to 15 sweet 16's compared to our 5. Also 12 SEC Titles compared to our 4.
Thanks but that's not much of a challenge.
