We will be lucky to win 7 games this year though, so all this talk of winning the west, the sec or making the playoffs is just insanity

Did you freeze your arse of when we got blasted by Baylor in the Liberty Bowl?

Did you go to Miami and watch us choke 21-20 to Nebraska in the Orange?

Did you go to two Sugars where Nebraska had their way with LSU?

Cause I sure did. Those were where 9-3 ish got us.

There'll be years when we will drop down to 8-4, 9-3, but there has been way to damn much money spent at LSU where we would see Hallman days ever.

I didn't sit through the Hallman years, because I don't spend money supporting bad decisions. Keeping Les Miles win, lose, draw is a bad decision. At least with someone else, (i.e. Herman) would be fun to watch!

I think everybody has stated their ultimatum. One more loss. Now it's time to sit and watch. And I also truly believe everybody in here would rather win the SEC this year than have a clear cut case for firing him.

If Herman is on the board.....we jump.

This. But once UH ponys up with a raise, we may have a hard time convincing him he's not in a good spot now. It's going to take a loss late and an unkind poll the following Monday to get him thinking about jumping.

But an undefeated UH team really doesn't help our case.

Choctaw? Were you hacked?

Ha! I was wondering the same thing! I actually gave Choctaw an upvote for the first time ever for that reply. If he was hacked, I take it back though...

Is winning the SEC West the bare minimum that he needs to do to be back next year?

Nope. He lost a winnable game to a lesser opponent because of being stubborn. He obviously doesnt want to fix that and remain our HC.

He needs to go. He is incapable of change, and I thought he would change things up after last year. Since he didn't, he's not doing what he needs to as a coach to adapt to the game and remain successful. We should be 2-0 right now, and we would have been with very moderate offensive playcalling and execution. The fact that he has NEVER developed a QB that he directly recruited out of high school is very troubling.

No. SEC West or bust. And winning the West isn't enough. We should keep him only if at least...

11-1 and lose close SEC championship game
10-2 with no embarassment, win the SEC championship and win one playoff game

I'm rooting for him, but it's past time.

So from Mac it really took until Saban to stabilize the Program.

bullshite. The program did better after he left than it had for the last 9 years he was there. The collapse of the program happened TEN YEARS after he left because we hired Mike Archer instead of a better coach when Arnsparger left. Getting rid of McClendon did not harm the LSU football program at all. It helped tremendously. The idea that the bad times from 1989-1999 had anything whatsoever to do with getting rid of McClendon is just pure unadulterated revisionist history. By the time the collapse happened in 1989, McClendon would have long since retired anyway.

This fricking loser mentality is why LSU is not an elite program historically. Keeping someone you KNOW won't get you to the top because it could be worse is a formula for failure. That same logic would justify keeping a 1-11 coach because you might hire one that goes 0-12.

It was generous of you to say everyone would rather success this year. I don't think that's true, but this was well said.
