Yes.... But every major recruit comes with these expectations.

I also dont think its just the fans. Les didnt take a RB in last years class for a reason. And knew very damn well that Hill was going to be making a decision on if he would stay or go pro. He knew we could possibly be short handed at RB, which makes us lean on LF.

But if healthy all year, I do think he will get over 1,000 rushing yards and 8 TDs. Hes the best RB recruit to come out since AP and 1 of the best overall recruits to come out of high school for a reason. Hes as special of a player as there has been.

So the people that are thinking Heisman in his 1st year, yea thats a little unrealistic. But to think he could be 1 of the top 5 RBs in the SEC isnt IMO.

3 years ago a true freshman running back put up these numbers in the SEC: Rushed 249 times for 1,197 yards and 17 TDs while adding 29 receptions for 412 yards and 2 more TDs. Some of his biggest games were against top flight SEC defenses. My expectations for LF are along those lines but I will not be upset or disappointed if he puts up half those numbers. Nothing wrong with having high expectations while not going on suicide watch if they're not met.

"Dominates the SEC"

Not unless Grimes is a miracle worker with our Offensive Line. We don't have an OL like Auburn that will enable us to run 95% of the time and be successful. LSU will have to be somewhat competent in the passing game with either JennSwag/Rettig or opposing defenses are going to stack it up against us. The LSU OL ARE better at run blocking than pass protection though, but the offense will never reach its full potential unless the OL learns proper technique, blocking assignments, blitz pickup and playing together as one unit. They're just five individuals out there currently, doing their own thing. Will be interesting to see what JG can do with them in one Spring and pre-season Fall camp.

We have seen frosh blow up at seasons end. Jv, hilliard, hill. Not saying they tore the sec up, but with lack of depth they might have seen more carries earlier on. That is the diff, we lack depth now.

People don't get that. We have one guy who just got a chance to prove himself last year and a guy who hasn't developed since his freshman year, that's it. The only way he doesn't kill it this year is injury, or Magee and Hilliard have gotten ten times better.

I don't think people are really thinking heisman. I think most who believe he blows up, think over 1000 rushing 250+ receiving, and double digit TDs. I just can;t see any different.

We have 4/5 of our starting OL returning plus the style of offense we run does great for our backfield. Hill had 740 yards and 12 TDs in eight games and Mett managed only 209 yards, 1 TD, and .5 int a game in those games.

If you think about it, is 180 and a TD per game too much to ask? BTW, I believe we do much better than that.

To hell with us fans, this shite is what we do to varying degrees regardless.

The better question is does LF think fan expectations are too high, that just too much is expected of him right out the gate, and I get the distinct impression he'd just say...'that's why I came here'.

LF will put pressure on himself...this is just message board chatter, who cares what we think?

Hopefully, we won't need him to do it alone

Unfair expectations are put onto every big name athlete that comes to LSU. i mean Mett was known as the Mettsiah for christs sake.

Absolutely. However, this is the one time where high expectations would be tough to avoid. There are various independent scouts calling him the best running back since AP. Mike Detellier called him one of the best 3 prospects he has ever seen, putting him in a group with Peyton Manning and Ed Reed. So while expectations are probably unfair for the kid, it would be tough to avoid with his talent. I think it was much more unfair to some other athletes that were not as talented but may have also received 5-star ratings.

What? He hasn't begged for attention by any means.

196 carries for 2135 yds and 31 tds speaks for itself

The rant usually has totally unrealistic expectation for every player. I think LF has potential. Instead of having expectations I prefer to simply wait and see. There is a world of difference between high school ball and SEC ball. That said, I hope he has a great year.

"I plan on winning a Heisman and a national championship with my fellow teammates," Fournette said, according to Jeremy Crabtree of ESPN. "I can handle the pressure. I can handle it."

“I plan on winning the Heisman my freshman year and hopefully a BCS national championship,” Leonard Fournette, the No. 1 tailback in the nation out of St. Augustine High in New Orleans, said after committing to LSU on Thursday during the Under Armour All-America high school all-star game on ESPN.

That's what.
