I think so
I’m fully 12oclock hoping so

All the talk of prototypical size and arm strength are more or less talking points...last I checked JB IS prototypical QB size, and as for arm strength, I doubt anyone was talking about 5’10” stands on his tip toes SB MVP future HOF’er Drew Breesus and his elite arm strength coming out. A lot to be said of a competitive drive inside a young man and pure tough as a sumabitch alpha personality tho.

He’ll be good as is, he’ll be great with average production from his line and help from playmakers in the backfield. GT

We will all know pretty quickly about Joe and the offense. While he may not be able to throw with the best quarterbacks in the country he will make up for that with his intangibles and feet. Lord please give us a o-line that avoids injury and comes to play each game. If the line shows up consistently I believe Joe and the Tiger offense could be very special. I really do believe that Joe can lead us to the places we all have been waiting to get back to! Geaux Tigers!

I believe Joe is capable, however I do not believe the LSU coaching staff can put him in a position or an offense to do it.

We wont score 40-60 but I like the confidence. We need to see how the lines gel and we dont have a tier 1 RB like we’ve had for past 2 decades. We’ll see.

The system will make him a success. Along with his abilities and "chest".

Emery is a tier 1 RB but you probably won’t see it until the second half of the season. As a collection I think the Emery, CEH, Davis, and Curry will be better than last year’s RB group.

40-60 pts a game...NO
We are the SEC.

but 21 to 42 consistently YES....and that wins most of the games

away from the BLING, all you need is one more point than the opponent.

I think Burrow has it upstairs with absolutely anyone playing college football. He has good wheels on him too. Only knock would be that he doesn't have a huge arm, but I think he will be great.

I agree. And you don’t need a big arm in college. It’s a big deal in the pros because anyone who is open won’t be shortly after the ball is released. It HAS to get there fast. Not so in college.

Burrow will be a shade better than the Oline. If the line is mediocre, he’ll be good. If the line is good,he’ll be great. If the line is great, he’ll be spectacular.

Well said!

Something similar could be said about every QB, although “a shade better” could be “slightly worse” or “the same”.

A lot of it is mentality and willingness to cultivate your craft. 3 of the greatest QBs all time had average arm strength. Brees, Montana and Manning. They were however, meticulous in film study, mechanics and consistency. They also had the ability to process quickly and exploit defenses. The other end of the spectrum are the guys like Ryan Leaf, Jeff George and Jamarcus Russell. All with cannon arms, but never grasped the mental aspect of the game or work ethic to succeed at the next level.

These are obviously all extreme examples, but if Burrow can develop the consistency and accuracy aspect I can see him enjoying some level of success in the NFL. He has the mental toughness and leadership ability.

It takes much more skill to throw with touch than to fire fastballs. But the fastballs do LOOK cooler

This is false. Throwing a ball with timing takes skill. But just throwing a ball with touch doesnt require skill.

Burrow can throw the ball plenty far enough. He has a strong arm in terms of distance but doesnt have strong velocity.

Danny Etling had a weak arm and couldn't throw the ball very far.

Brennan has elite arm strength. He can throw it farther and harder than Burrow.

Where burrow separates himself is timing. He can throw the deep ball with anybody. His timing makes up for any lack of velocity he might have.
