Do y'all think players/teams get intimidated?

I played basketball so knowing we were huge under dogs only motivated me more.
But the idea of defending our 5 wr set would give me butterflies.
You don't want to be the one to get beat or get caught out of position. There is no way to anticipate the routes.

Yea, I played chess and facing an opponent with a much higher ELO would really help me to focus prior to the match to make sure i minimized my mistakes

None of the players or teams on either side will be intimidated by one another. That’s part of the reason as to how they got here.

Up until my senior year in high school I had butterflies every game. That was my first year starting. It really is all about confidence. If you have it you’re good but if you don’t you will crumble.
I will never understand how these guys go out in front of 20 million people and perform the way they do. I wouldn’t be able to catch a snap. Much less guard this offense.

Yes, it happens more than you would think.
Would players in this upcoming game be intimidated?
No, not these two teams. Not in this game.

I sort of disagree. Perhaps on the first couple series Clemson not so much. But when they get to see it develop and they have no idea who's where, I think the doubt will start to set in.

Scared? No. Without hope? Yes. Aggies and Oklahoma both knew they were absolutely screwed. Texas anm more.

Every single player, yes even Burrow, will have butterflies. It’s natural and performing at an elite level always brings those nerves. As you get more experienced, you manage those butterflies much better.
Would not call it intimidation though.

After watching tape of LSU for two weeks I would suppose Clempson will be shitting in their pants right at first....

For some, being nervous disappears on the first play of live action. Others first hit, first catch, or first throw.
My worry is 'tight'. Which is being nervous to the point where training and/or muscle memory can't take over. At some point auto-thinking or simply reaction has to take over the conscious mind. Until that kicks in, they will over-think and the actions/reactions will have a less than natural flavor.

at this level of football, these guys aren't intimidated. Maybe when an FCS team plays an elite team, there's some intimidation, but not at this level.

Who gets intimidated in basketball? You may lose, but no one is going to knock the frick out of you. Average Joes would be lining up to play a game with NBA players. To carry the ball 20 times against the New England Patriots defense? Not so much.
