I think we will end the season with 3 losses.

That's almost a best case scenario, though. I don't think it's impossible to win out - hell, that's more likely than losing out - but in the SEC, I think 3 more losses is realistic.

Heck, I think I can live with that if you were selling right now - 4-4 finish in the SEC and win the non-conference games, get a bowl bid with a chance to win a 9th game? That would be something upon which to build.

Lol. Do you remember Miami's SoS and record that year? They were incredibly over rated.

They were ranked on the top ten going into that game.

We are a more than 3 TD favorite over Syracuse. How is that an upset?

O is trash and I've melted since we made the hire. It's like LSU is forcing me not to give a damn about football anymore. It sucks

Let me play Devil's Advocate - if I presented you with an absolute choice - Miles or O to rebuild the team, who do you go with?

Hell, I thought it was crazy to fire Les to hire O, but in the grand scheme of things, retaining Les would not have provided any motivation to change. O's first act was to fire Cameron.

On paper, if it's Miles or O to "rebuild" - then I go with O on that reason alone. Crazy as it sounds.

You can't talk sense in here. Panic rules this place.

Yeah that's a tough question. I guess I would take O in that light. However if you factor in that means paying Miles buyout and having another big buyout for O I would prefer to have Miles and the ability to cut losses at anytime. Lsu is likely stuck with O for a few years regardless of how bad he is. And honestly I see recruiting dropping off further as well.

I agree the money makes it more complicated, but it is just money. Your argument superficially makes sense, but not if you want change. If you wanted things to stay the same - Cameron's offense, no QB play to speak of, 3 yards and a cloud of dust - fine - that's what you were going to get with Miles until he got tired of it.

But, change requires change. FKing and Alleva tried to split the baby with O - keep what they perceived fans liked about Miles and change the offense. It's just superficial change to the offense (so far) and LSU fans are too impatient for that.

I do think this team is going to look different in late October and early November. However, I also think it's going to be a bumpy ride until O gets the personnel situation, discipline problems, locker room cancer, etc., taken care of - and there just isn't time. Football moves too quickly.

And I'm confident he can still recruit in this environment. He's practically a savant in that area. Playing all the freshmen - that's a set up move for next year. "I've got upperclassmen that won't listen. You saw all the suspensions. You saw me play all the freshmen. Yeah, we had some bumps but all those guys are going to be better next year. And if you come in, do what you're supposed to do, I'll play you early, too."

That's brilliant - I hope it works.

If LSU ends up with 3 losses like I predicated when I got sucked into the give the man a chance campaign, I will run naked down highland road. What gives you any indication that O will lead lsu to 9-3. I am all ears.

Not saying they aren't his players. He clearly claims Guice and vice versa. They are not the players he would necessarily recruit to fit HIS defensive or offensive schemes.

Serious question:

Can you, or anyone else on this board, give us a breakdown of what Orgeron's offensive or defensive scheme is?

I'll wait.

Well, either there is NO talent on this team or it is poorly prepared. Which is it? Worse loss to State ever. I am hoping LSU can beat Arky and TAMU. After that, well...The recruiting has really suffered for a long time beginning with the totally inept Miles. No we have the inept Orgeron. Alleva is either inept or is intentionally sabotaging the program.

At this point, people who still believe this need to crawl back into their hovels. If there's one this Orgeron's proving, it's that a coach who averages 9-10 wins per year, while never winning fewer than 8 in a season, is anything but inept. Us younger fans are now seeing what a truly inept coach does to a program.

Miles may not have been in the elite tier, but he was certainly a better head coach than many here gave him credit for.

In 2014 people were predicting 0-8 or 1-7 at best in the sec, after state and auburn.

Like I've said, I see us winning 2/3 vs. AU/UF/TN and dropping the game to bama.
Tennessee did not look impressive at all and neither did UF.

I believe Aranda will get the discipline back on defense and hopefully Canada gets the offense going. We will have to ride this defense and Guice to an 8-3 record.
