Do we think both Ole Miss and LSU are playoff teams?

I feel like if we have a chance to rematch them things would go in the tigers favor. Would be incredibly satisfying to watch them blow their load on this win just to lose the one to us that matters in the post season.

Both have a shot to finish somewhere in the 10-15 range.
The schedules are tough.

It would be nice if we could do to them what they did to UGA last year (also what Bama did to us in 2011)

If Green comes back fully healthy before November, possible.

No. Ole Miss defense is very suspect. Anyone with a pulse at QB is going to eat them alive like Louisville did. They will get exposed this weekend against Florida.
LSU is not a playoff team right now. Not even close. Revisit second half. Until you see some huge progression with Leavitt's passing LSU is a 3-4 loss team minimum this year.

I was not impressed with us last night but name 12 teams that have looked substantially better than us this year?

They will lose to Florida.
Definitely losing to both Texas and Georgia so they likely won’t even be there.

Ole Miss - yes
LSU - no

Secr is dancing on the grave of our newly defunct program.

Yes, but mostly because I think this is a down year in college football, though I should clarify that. I think there are more “good” teams than the average season, but I haven’t seen a single “great” or “elite” team this season. Someone could still grow into that, but I haven’t seen it yet.

I’m not even certain OM wins the egg bowl this year. Both these teams have hard schedules and this seems like a year in the SEC that you can’t take any team for granted.

Are you projecting our current qb to suck less or be benched and Clark is decent or better?
Posted on 9/20/26 at 4:39 pm to crispcrispcrunk
No way LSU doesn’t lose 2 more games unless Clark starts and is a reincarnation of Chambliss. Leavitt ain’t it.

Ole Miss goes 10-2 and they’re in. They have to find a way to go 3-2 against Florida, Georgia, Texas, OU, and State. Or better. They cannot afford a loss to Auburn or Vandy or Mizzou.
LSU has to find a way to go 3-1 against Texas, Alabama, and Tennessee. And not lose to any other team (like a UK).
I think they’re both going to make it. Ole Miss loses to Florida and their odds drop horribly. We lose to Aggies and we better win out.

Better question is who do you think LSU has a sure win against on the remaining schedule outside Mcneese?
-TAMU Reed has always been mediocre but has career days on Baker every year and Baker had a horrible scheme against Chambliss
Kentucky - looks way better than people think and just destroyed TAMU
Miss State - has probably the second best QB in the SEC or at least a rising superstar
Auburn - no matter how much they suck playing in that stadium is a nightmare year in and year out trap game
Tenn - they look decent enough but more importantly, another program that's a hate game for Lane
Bama - beatable but they have our number
Texas - they at a high point right now and probably the most talented team in SEC
Arkansas - who knows they usually play LSU hard and tough
Nobody is a sure win and the SEC is more competitive than it has ever been. It's pretty much equal match almost every game at this point. All those could be wins alongside easily losses. We don't good enough QB play to feel like we're going to be anything less than a 4 loss team this year and Baker is a horrible DC who consistently shits the bed in big games.

Easily see at least 3 more losses this year. 7-5/8-4 preseason expectations on target.

Ole Miss has massive holes on their defense and their conditioning is awful. I don't know if anyone has watched their games this year but they get gassed in second half. If LSU didn't shite the bed so hard in the first half this would've played heavily in our favor in the 4th.
Their rush defense is atrocious. They've given up like 600+ yards rushing in 3 games. LSU had WRs running open all day all game and Leavitt couldn't hit anyone with tunnel vision.
It was a well played game for LSU in second half but I don't think either team is that good. The biggest difference is Chambliss can put the team on his back and win when you need him to like he did last night and like he did against Louisville.
