I was joking, of course we pitch Skenes Game1 in Omaha, regardless of opponent.

Just bored with the rainout

Their Ace is really good. He was dealing in game one. Ivy League pitcher of the year. Can’t remember his name, but kid is good.

And I know you were kidding

ETA : RYAN DROMBOSKI 68inn 95 SO 2.91era, that’s ivy batting too, but still. He does have a ton of walks for 68inn though. 35BB

No way. You always throw your ace G1 in Omaha. It increases the likelihood of using him multiple times.

What has LSU won yet? They beat Tulame (the team getting crushed by SHSU)and wasted Skenes in order to do it.

Disagree. Maybe 5+ years ago this was a thing. CWS schedule is more compressed now. I just dont see us getting more than 2 starts from Skenes in an 11 day period. If we want to win the whole thing, you save Skenes for Wake.

For example- we beat Penn in game 3 of the CWS on Saturday. Lose to Wake with Floyd on Monday, we turn around and play again Tuesday (no longer get that next day off).

Would we bring him back on 4 days rest if we make it to game 12 Wednesday?Doubt it.

Ok so we win Wednesday without him.. maybe he can throw thursday? Then when can he throw in the finals? Maybe Monday on 5 days rest... but game 3 of the finals aint guaranteed.

4 days rest is plenty for postseason play. It's common.

We just threw Skenes vs Tulane.

Is it really worth discussing if Jay uses him Game 1 in Omaha?

Omaha? Lots of baseball left to play before then.

Don’t get ahead of yourself we have to get out of the regionals first.

Isn't Penn like top 10 in either ERA allowed or batting average allowed in the nation? Sure it's Ivy League but if that gets them to Omaha it would be probably be wise to not take that lightly.
