They tried last season as did LSU and the SEC Officd said no. All coaching hires can be rejected by the SEC office.

I’d like to see a skilled lawyer challenge this nonsense

It would be messed up if O hire freeze and freeze takes over as head coach after O AGAIN.

That's ridiculous. How is that even fair or legal?

it’s called the SEC bylaws. An attorney can challenge this self-governoring organization and lose at this one.

Well.... yeah. Of course.

Should be signing a MOU saying that as soon as the SEC gives the thumbs up he's on staff in some posistion, even as QA/QC so that he's on the bench after the season.

Come in handy for that recruiting thing in mid-Jan.

Will we? LOL

I agree O ain't gonna get rid of Steve, but I think Steve might get rid of Steve or at least volunteer for demotion back to TE coach or some other capacity. I think it's a matter of public record he did not want the gig in the first place, turned it down multiple times and finally gave in.

If I'm E, I'm telling CEO every week from here to the end of the season that is EXACTLY what is about to happen.

If E wants to stay at LSU in some capacity (and he does) that is the best move for him. And I want him on the staff of 10; just not at OC.

I'm going to back that up by describing one HUGE thing E has done, huge but 'hidden' and why he should be on the coaching staff and not QC/analyst:

Our flow of communication and playcalls has been excellent. His system of making the call and then getting it to the field is damn good. We went years, many years, where this looked amateurish. He probably learned a couple of things from Canada in that regards. But nevertheless it is damn good.

- substitutions and personnel packages are on the spot
- delay of games and unnecessary timeouts are way down
- both substitutions and calls are unhurried
- most significantly: QB and C have time to survey the D

Even as TE coach he can take some of the positives and make sure they continue. And I love him as a recruiter AND a recruiting strategist.

Dem hose disagree!

And on a serious note, come on guys! Do y'all really think that Coach O will get rid of SE? The only way SE is gone is if he alone decides to step down which isn't happening or if Coach O is forced by admin to make a change. That may need to happen but man talk about a black eye against the program. 3 OC's in 3 years Les Miles 2.0

Im calling it.
Sullivan and Robinson leave. Curtis Johnson to wide receiver coach, freeze to rbcoach/co-OC. Ensminger retires after next season and freeze slides in.

How many OCs has Bama had recently? Their eyes look pretty clear to me.
