i just don't see how it's possible. nc st is ahead of us in the cfp ranking and they finish with wake forest and unc. they will probably end 9-3. is it possible that lsu will jump them? maybe. and that's just #23. it gets harder after that.

memphis closes with smu and ecu. even if they lose to smu, they probably still finish ahead of lsu

lsu should pass iowa and isu this week.

even if wsu loses to wash, they probably stay in front of lsu

no way lsu passes ucf

i doubt that lsu passes va tech. they lost to gt but, they are also 7 spots ahead of lsu and finish with pitt and uva

the only way lsu passes state is if they lose at ark or to ole miss and i find neither likely

ok st finishes with kansas and ksu. easy wins

psu finishes with neb and maryland. easy wins

osu finishes with ill and mich. easy wins. even if they lose to mich, no way they fall below lsu.

msu did lose at northwestern but finishes with maryland and rutgers. easy wins. it's possible they fall below lsu this week but that's a 10 spot drop after losing at osu? doubtful

usc finishes with ucla

auburn will probably lose to bama but highly, highly unlikely they fall below lsu or lsu jumps them. wayyyyyy to big of a gap

that puts lsu between 22-20 this week. IF, IF wsu, va tech, ms st, ok st, psu, osu, msu and usc all lose the last week, lsu MIGHT move past them which would put them at 12 at best. highly, highly unlikely. some, maybe. all, no way. they all have easy games left but an upset would be devastating to them.

va tech is the best possibility. state does have a rivalry game. the rest are so far ahead of lsu, it's difficult to see them dropping that far. barring a tremendous upset, that puts lsu around 19.

the only conference game that affects lsu is usc against wash/wsu. lsu probably won't pass any one of those 3 teams because that 3rd loss would be to a ranked team in a ccg. that leaves lsu around 19 even after the ccg's.

bowl games, who knows? we don't even know the matchups yet. lsu might not even break the top 15 much less the top 10. if the 3rd loss had been to any team on the schedule other than troy, lsu would be several spots higher right now. the troy loss is a freakin boat anchor around lsu's neck.

What difference, at this point, does it make?

I see what you did there. Love it.

On substance, I agree. We're LSU - and we should be in the mix for championships. It doesn't matter to me whether we finish 12, 15, 18, or 22. We weren't in the hunt for a championship, so where we finish in some silly poll doesn't mean a thing.

10-3 and 6-2 in conference will almost guarantee a top 10 finish...other teams will lose in front of us

and probably playing in the Sugar or Cotton against another ranled team

Sugar is not possible this year - playoff game. However, no one is mentioning the margin of victory impact going forward if we squeak by the last 3 games, no much chance of top ten, but if we win looking like a top ten team, and beat a good opponent in the bowl game, we will finish 9-10.

who? i already went through every team's schedule. they all have either easy games, only 1 or 2 losses or they are too far in front of lsu.

Alabama has to play Auburn and one of them has to play GA .. two loses to be had there

Big 10 - Big 12 Conference Championships will also create loses, so will the ACC C game

Absolutely have a shot. Would help to win against a high ranked bowl opponent, but possible either way.
