Do our big men coat their hands in butter before each game?

Because I've been watching LSU basketball for 50 years and I've never in that time seen anything close to the number of balls that our guys get their hands on and it either bounces off or they can't hold on to it.

Do we do hand strengthening exercises, Hand/eye coordination drills? I mean maybe Cook can work with them. He got 8 boards and didn't fumble one and he was the smallest guy on the court!

We were outscored 28-8 on second chance points and that was pretty much the difference in the game and man, I am willing to be at least 8-10 of those were after balls that bounde off our players hands or were fumbled or taken away from us. MADDENING!

Screw you. Just trying to be an a-hole. You are very good at it.

Nothing of the sort, just venting frustration, were you not pulling your hair out watching that crap - balls bouncing off our hands all day?

It happened again and again today and outside of the game at A$M were out of nowhere we actually did rebound and hold on to the ball against a very good rebounding team...it's happened all year.

No he’s right. There are at least two games where the outcome possibly changes if Baker doesn’t hold a basketball like a bar of soap.

I’m not talking about failing to high point the ball. And I’m not talking about wild loose balls.

I’m talking about consistently letting the basketball get away from you after possessing it, without so much as moving your feet, and without a defender forcing it out.

It’s a big issue with his game.

So is grabbing and holding a ball a talent that none of the scholarship bigs on our roster have?

McMahon yelled at him to use two hands to rebound. I learned that in 3rd grade. You'd think a P5 player could do the same

Was that Mama Baker or Mama Dean that downvoted the OP?

None of our four 6-10 or better guys seem to have a firm grasp of it.

Usually that’s developed by college, if not, that’s something the players should be working on in their own time. Coaches don’t have the time to work on stuff like that in practice. They do drills, but not down to that level of specificity. It’s kind of expected from an athlete at this level to develop that on their own. Or naturally have it.

I agree with this. So frustrating. Even when Baker went to the ground to get a loose ball. He let a smalller player rip it from him. No aggressiveness whatsoever. You need to want that ball like a hungry dog with a piece of meat. ThT is what we are missing with this team. Reed could be that guy but doesn’t have the mentality.
