I used to just think of them as our little bitch (still do in football) until they beat us in that super regional and all the fans began to mouth off about them being superior. Even at that I still didn't hate them until about 2006 after a game at the old Box. Bunch of Tulane guys started harassing our group after the game, unsolicited mind you.

I laughed it off but they persisted. Some pushing and shoving occurred but was ultimately diffused as they backed down considering they were outnumbered as well as giant vaginas.

Both of these.

It's nothing like it used be, back when life happened in black and white...

find the old timers like myself have that hate that was bred into us by our parents. i've seen families stop talking to each other because of lsu and tulane.

ok i'm still from the time when there was much bitterness between the two schools. although tulane had not beaten LSU in 25 yrs as of 1973, they were still our bitter rival. in the '72 game the tigers sqeaked out a 9-3 victory in N.O. over the wave. tulane was stopped on the last play of the game inside the tiger 3. In '73 they beat us 14-0, again in N.O. From 79 to 83 they wore us out. The 81 game we were pounded in the dome 41-7. The rivalery ended sometime in the mid 80's once Arnsparger arrived here. it's never been the same for tiger fans as far as them being rivals. although it still is for tulane.

I agree with that. I don't loathe them as I used to but, just like yesterday, as soon as I see my Tigers playing the greenies, the hatred for Tulane comes back to life. My dad loathed Tulane like I loathe Bama.

The hate between the two schools was every bit as ugly if not uglier than the current day Auburn - Alabama rivalry.

Is the rivalry still heated?
(even tho tulane dosent compare to lsu in athletics)

Saw a chick driving a Green late 90's Accord Sedan with a Tulane sticker on her back window and a Vanity License plate that read "Ambul8r" in front of me this morning while merging onto I-12 from the Denham Springs Entrance Ramp.

I sped around her when the light turned, cut her off, rolled down the back-window of my 4Runner, and gave her the bird.

F*ck Tulane.

You have this backwards based on my own personal experiences. The younger Tulane fans are all students, most of whom have no personal ties to Louisiana. They don't care about LSU at all, trust me. I find that many LSU fans seem to dislike Tulane for a variety of reasons (resentment over not being the best school in the state, the perception that TU students are rich snobs, etc)

LOL, What?

I hate TooLame just because they jack up prices and try to make you buy a package to see LSU play them. I was really happy when we dropped them in Football.

It was pretty amusing that they wet themselves in 07 when they were in the game in the first half.

I thought it ended in the 80's when they stopped competing in sports by eleminating their athletic program and running it as a department of the school.

I'm living proof of this. My parents and I didn't speak for the week of and week after the game till I was enrolled at LSU

The truth, which is what I posted. Obviously those sentiments don't apply to everyone, but they're undoubtedly factors in the "rivalry".

I wish we played them every year. I think it's good for the state of Louisiana, and especially the Southeast portion of the state.

YES it goes back a long long time. They have been a non factor for some time now, but it is still there from when they were in the Sec.
