It's the perfect deception. Every year coaches say they are going to get the TEs involved in the passing game. That should be enough to force defenses to game plan for our TEs right?

One TE reception in 3 games.

Hill did it last year, but his vision is much better (right now) than anyone in our backfield.

Teams were much more concerned about the play action pass last year

I've followed Cam from Indiana, to San Diego and throughout his entire career. As I said, he's playing possum.

No one was out in a pattern except the WR. We are running max protect to help AJ right now. Will it change in the future? Who knows?

Of course it will.

Hill vs Florida 2013

We ran the 2 wide outs to one side and a TE to the other side last year. It's a much better formation than 2 TEs..

We should run this formation more often

Ask the linebackers and safeties who are getting their asses beat.

Unfortunately after 3 games, what you see is what you get. There is NO secret play book.

It's not a question of how deep the playbook goes. We saw last year that this offense is a sophisticated passing attack.

The issue is whether or not the coaches feel we can consistently execute through the air. I suspect that they are concerned about that.

Which hurts because they never drop passes.

We wouldn't know if they drop passés bc there are zero passes thrown their way?? One drop doesn't mean he will do it everytime! It was his first pass catch of the year you have to know your players will be nervous, give them other chances my goodness. I mean when we run and get zero yards do we stop running?? Hell no and matter of fact we will run the exact same play again and again. This offense needs more creativity I really don't care how we do it just do it please!

Well if I was an LSU TE I'd be confused too if someone threw an oblong piece of pig dermis at me.

I wonder often if our fans understand our identity? Good coaches try to eliminate the mistakes by using a powerful running game and passing when the defense thinks run. We have young skill players across the board. Why risk interceptions and mistakes when you can beat a team running the ball? Plus it shortens the game. If y'all want a spread attack, go root for Oregon or Auburn.

7 vs 9 when it's 2 TE and I formation

Do we only use 4 linemen in that formation?

Prolly cause you don't play football or practice receiving drills.
Do you really think the only time a ball is throw to them is in a game?
The staff knows what they're capable of and what risks are involved in throwing to them. So far it's been shite, with drops and a frickin fumble.

If you're trying to tell me that our highly regarded TEs are so bad that we are afraid to throw them them then our TE's coach needs to be fired. And 3 targets is not much of a game sample size to quit on them. I heard a lot of praise about how Desean Smith was the real deal. By your logic we should have stopped running Fournette after the Wisky game.

When you are doing something creative like running a fly sweep, ala Wisconsin, with Gordon and that other RB back, Derek Watt FB/TE ($100 mil JJ Watt's little brother) came up and played TE and cleared the way for Gordon or the other back to turn the corner. That was a 2 TE configuration that worked very well.

It's all about bodies and running backs with vision.. and if Jennings can be a legitimate running threat we should be able to rush effectively purely based on numbers.
