Looked good in the videos today. Cant believe the negative remarks about their weight. nevis is an absolute beast. Only thing that worries me is after downs, devis, and pep it starts dropping off.

yeah read on tigerbait that adams and montgomery pretty much passed everyone else up.

so basically we may see adams and montgomery starting with mingo in certain situations. Dont know what is up with aghayere.

I'm excited to see some younger guys making waves (Mo, and Sam) Adams was supposed to come in and play a lot, but I didn't think he'd end up starting.

Brockers will be solid in the 2 deep. I look for Nevis and Downs to be starting come UNC.

downs really uses his hands well. I guess that could make up for the "lack of weight". When i look at these guys i still see monsters regardless if they are not 300lbs. I dont know much about the offense, but i do know our d will be much improved this year. we have sick depth in the secondary. Second year under chavis is huge. Tenn had some good defenses over the years and well we have the talent.

I assume the comments you are referring to are about this season, correct? Nevis is an adequate weight. Around 275lbs for Downs in the SEC is small for sure. There is no way around it. That is not a run stuffing D tackle at that weight. If you have 315lb plus SEC guards and 300 plus pound SEC centers a guy that size can wear down quick. In my opinion you want your interior defensive lineman to primarily be run stoppers and maybe push the pocket back in pass situations. As far as D-end. If some guys are lighter/faster they will be pass rush/situation defensive ends.

i have read countless posts on how our run d will suck cus we are too light. I mean the guys dont look light at all. the intensity those guys have is reassuring.

nevis is 285 while downs is 278. that doesnt seem like that much of a diff when you are that big and that strong. pep 280 brockers 300. We will be fine.

It is not all about the weight it has something to do with strength and desire and add a mean streak in there also. You have to have those two + 1 things to be successful in the SEC.

Now when you add weight to the mix then you have something special. We have the strength and desire part down. We have 3 weeks to add about 20 pounds perman.

Where do you think we fall and do you think we can acomplish that? If we can by the time we play Bama who the last time I looked that has a great running game we will beat Bama hands down! You like that!

I'm hoping that Ego Ferguson gets moved to DT since he weighed in at 286 and is able to contribute as well.

A fan worrying that we might not be able to stop the run should not necessarily be construed as being "negative". That's part of being a fan.
