We are finally catching some breaks.

Seriously last year we were a pretty similar team, we just always seemed to be a break or two away every series. Seems like the baseball gods are giving back for the awful luck we had last year, and it looks like the team is feeding off of it.

I agree, I think it has to do with the fact that a lot of these guys wet through all that last year so they seem to be able to close better. (Maybe tonight isn't the best example, Dozar )

Difference between last year's team and this years: Alan Dunn. The staff is finally getting some coaching. Grewe was apparently a disaster as a pitching coach.

Also, the bats are starting to heat up. I have a feeling that come May, this LSU team is going to be the team nobody wants to play.

One big bopping first baseman would be nice.

Yeah, it would be.

Unfortunately, they don't grow on trees.

Been having some pretty timely hits with RISP, IMO.

yea, and we bunted (or tried to) EVERY TIME a guy reached first. AND we sucked at bunting. last year, we blew the season early with our failures at small ball. yes, the teams are similar; if you mean we can't hit with power.

Dunn is without a doubt the difference. One down, (Grewe) one to go.

One run games. We were terrible last season. We're great this season.

This team seems like they can actually hit the ball. Last year, they flat out couldn't. Many folks are still thinking this year's team is struggling at the plate, but they're not. The stats show otherwise.

Pitching is also lights out. That combination makes a much better team. Let's face it. Last year's team played good teams close, but they beat all the weaker teams and lost to all the stronger ones (other than CSF). Last year's team was a consistent middle to bottom SEC team in a year when the SEC was strong. This year's team is just playing better.
