First of all....you don't know that. Second of all, not his fault he should be on the field.

It's not deichmans fault that stallings threw that ball with more movement than any pitch he's ever thrown.

could it be that he isnt comfortable with a 5'8" guy at 1B? the infielders likely prefer the bigger target

That's never stopped him before from playing shorter guys. And Bryce can actually play the position. Aim small; miss small.

Feel like grant dozar played a lot of first base. So did Schimpf at times iirc

Got to be able to make the routine plays. He definitely alligator armed that attempted catch on the error. Hope he has alligator skin as well.

To make matters worse, it looks like his errors are affecting his bat tonight as well. Strike out pitch in the seventh was at his eyes on a full count. Hope he can hang tough.
