Agree, but it was terrible.

His offense is for teams that cannot physically dominate.

To read defense alignments and reactions. It helps you create mismatches and take advantage of hesitation on defense.

Think about this; defense is purely reactionary. If you create hesitation, the reaction is too late.

I thought Canada did outstanding considering a limited passing game and young online. He found other ways to move the ball.

Can't say that about other OCs we've had.

For one it gives you an idea on how the defense will line up against different formations and personnel groupings and how they react to the motion. It can set things up later in the game. And it could also give the QB some clues about their coverage scheme. It's not just a gimmick. There is legitimate strategy involved.

i was looking forward to Canada's offense without a qb that wasnt a full field progression qb. Etling was barely a half field progression qb with zero pocket presence aside from a step up or two.

His red zone play calling was terrible. No I-Formation at all. Other than that, I liked it.

this. our stats prove how inadequate we were in red zone scoring. tds and fgs.

We had one, 2011. Offensive lines were underwhelming.

His offense is geared toward lower tier teams with less talent.

How fricking dumb is this?

"Oh, his offense works when the players are less talented, but on a more talented offense, it doesn't work."

If a fricking offense works with less talented players, it works even better when the players are more talented.

But hey, such are the musings of one of the biggest dumbasses on this site.

I could not care less what type of offense they put out there if it works.

This offense eventually could've worked with the right pieces into place. Every offense is going to have growing pains when it is being installed. Just watch, this next season we're going to have a lot of the same struggles we had this past season.

I would be fine with him staying.

Replacement will determine my happiness with his departure.

Our runningbacks are powerful running behind a fullback, it’s one reason we have been highly successful in the past.

Miles ran entirely too much I-Formation, but in the redzone, we are hard to stop when we run behind a fullback.

Canada would never do it, and it bothered me. We had very few long runs because of that.

holy shite.
so now all of the sudden we didnt have great rushing games under miles?

also, no one that gets paid to evaluate oline play thinks the majority of our olines were bad.

Etling was at least average. It’s not like he was Jordan Jefferson bad.

? He was trying to make chicken salad out of chicken droppings. LSU has had less than a QB for years now. Way less. If Coach A$$wipe doesn't stick his nose in things maybe 'BAma is the only loss. But noooooooooooo....Eaux keauxs offense and had to 'tweak' things resulting in two losses.

I didn’t hire him. And if I interviewed him I would vet him and know his offense before I hired him.

to be fair most running backs are better without having to pick their holes. running behind a fb pretty much takes away the decision making process from the rb(at the los).

i would be screaming," we have one of the best rb fullbacks in cfb(Moore),let Guice run behind him" when we would be in inside 5 or 10.

i never understood why he wouldnt at times use the rb blocking ability of our hback in between the tackles. he would always just use it off tackle and let an unblocked lb meet the rb.

you do realize that JJ's 2009 season was better than etlings season this year right? and that was with zero run game.

our leading rusher in 2009 had 542 yards
