You’re an embarrassment if anything in that video made you mad

Imagine being a fly in a room with Paul Mainieri and Jaden Hill. Now imagine the cringe in trying to see Paul trying to related to Hill

Jesus Christ. Kids today need to be constantly validated. Needy as frick.
I don’t think it’s like that in this case. He’s got a good point. He’s really helping LSU recruit by opening up about it. There’s probably a lot of black kids who would be good at baseball but are steered away because it’s not viewed as cool by their piers. It’s viewed by the general public as a sport for white Boys and Hispanics. Couldn’t hurt to get more people from different communities involved.

This thread is dumb and benefits nothing. Didn’t read but someone on either side of this is going to say something really shitty and dumb, if it hasn’t happened already.
Does society suck today and are we in a bad spot in the worlds? Yes
Are many of the societal issues today total BS? Yes
Is Jaden Hill allowed to have an opinion and make a statement about how he feels? Absolutely
Does anyone on here have personal knowledge of how or why he feels a certain way? Not even a little
Thread should be whacked

WTH, accepted him the day he signed. This doesn’t change that.

So, we don’t even get out of bed for interviews anymore

Yeah, I don't really like this thread.
The video isn't even titled as the OP tries to paint it.
I don't think anyone should be asked if they accepted Jaden Hill as a fan. OFC everybody accepted him. Insert "What year is it?" meme. It's an absolute stupid thing to ask. LSU got the #1 player out of Arkansas. All baseball fans should be thrilled.
Jaden didn't say anything wrong and has a right to feel like he may sometimes stand out.

Pretty much all that needs to be said. But leave it to the poor delicate snowflakes to get their panties in a twist over an innocuous conversation

Exactly...just more of a reflection of who they are.

This is next level retardation.

My kid plays on an all black football team and no one gives a flying F what he thinks about it.

Sounds like somebody violated his safe space. If we ever had to fight a war with China we would be fricked with today’s kids. When I was that age the word “trigger” was still a part of a gun.

I think the common theme is most folks don't give a shite about skin color. So it's a damn shame when coddled athletes want fans/viewers to think it's somehow difficult being a coddled athlete from Arkansas to transition into being a coddled athlete in Baton Rouge.
If they make a big deal over something none of us give a shite about and would not otherwise notice, we lose respect.
He earned a college scholarship and will soon be earning 1st round MLB money. He has a lot to be proud of - things no one can take from him (until he learns about income taxes). We don't need him to be the MLK of the team by rebranding himself as some guy that also had to overcome minor culture change that most people experience in life. That's not real hardship Jaden. Nut the frick up, count your blessings, and just be a man with an opportunity to monetize excellence in a lawn game

There was nothing wrong with what Jaden said. He is just speaking in the reality of college baseball. This conversation has happened countless times. There are not a lot of players that look and have the lived experiences like Jaden and THAT IS FINE. So of course when he discusses the differences in culture that exists within the team, he has to adjust but he knows he needs to navigate it because that’s what LSU and Baseball, overall as a sport, is like.
It is a challenge for him and other African American players. Just like I believe it is for White players on Predominantly Black Basketball rosters. It may be a different culture and a new experience but they learn how to navigate it.
You guys overanalyze this and make it so disrespectful when it genuinely does not have to be. He plays a sport where many of teammates do not look like him, the “fans” don’t look like him, and he can’t really speak on it because he will be labeled as “a privileged sjw snowflake that knows nothing about the struggles of racism”. Just because you couldn’t possibly begin to understand, doesn’t mean that this should not pose challenges to him.
I mean this dumbass thread is titled “Do you ACCEPT him as a Tiger Fan?”... solely because he is speaking about his experience?

So you’re just going to assume that me and others posting similar thoughts never had the “challenge “ of being a minority?
I once was the only guy in a 4 person orgy. You don’t think that was awkward?
I once was the only millionaire at a dinner I shared with 3 billionaires. So cry me a river Jaden!

Yes I am going to assume that you never had the challenge of being Jaden Hill. And I am sure you were stuck to camcorder privileges in that orgy, Mr. Willie.
