But why the hand wringing over where he is selected? What does it matter. It isn't going to win us a title.

I've always laughed at the fools who tout this notion that LSU has all these guys selected high in the draft and has the most active NFL players or whatever and yada yada yada as some kind of banner to hang our hats on.

Who gives a frick???? All this attention didn't do shite in terms of winning anything significant for us lately.

But yet people actually brag about this nonsense.

OK -- while I don't agree w/ you, i don't think your view is unreasonable. But why create a false "Guice has off field issues" like McShay and Mayock did?

I’d just like to point out that this is the first time that anyone has ever responded in a mature way and opened the door for legitimate, open ended discussion to me on TD even though they disagree. Thank you lol

That being said, I’m genuinely curious as to how you see this and what your take is. I’m really having a hard time understanding where everyone else is coming from because this just seems like a clear-cut case of Guice going against the grain in a “that’s just how the world works, fair or not” scenario

And to answer your question, I can’t really address that. I appreciate the fact that our fan base is rabidly defending Guice, but nobody really has the facts there and it’s hard for me to sit there and say that Mcshay was completely making things up. I’m guessing that it was a situation where his source told him “we have problems with him that don’t stem from his on-field play” and it got translated to “off the field issues” which implies something completely different in the reporting process. But that’s just my guess, again, I don’t really have enough info to have a strong opinion on that either way and neither should anyone else IMO

I doubt Guice fabricated the story line. Unfortunately he should have kept that to himself. Speaking out put the owners on the defensive and now it’s cost him some money. He will overcome and do well with his Pro Career.

If the supposed questions he reported were false, why would he have said this?

He didn’t treat the process like a job interview. He just let shite fly from his mouth.

Apparently "fake news" got him. Sad thing is he generated the news. Also, Sony Michel is a much more versatile back. I love LSU and pulled hard for Guice but it seems he let his talkative nature work against him!

It’s just the first round

As long as he goes 2nd round it’s all normal

Maybe he missed meetings with a couple of teams that wanted to draft him and this is the consequence.

People overthinking this.

Why are people in this country so quick to believe management, and the authorities when we see proof of them lying, and screwing over people on a daily basis?

I believe Guice. These talking heads can spew all of the bullshite they want. I choose to believe him, why? Because NFL teams have a history of asking these questions. I get why they ask them. They want to see how a potential player for them will react when pushed. Will he laugh it off? Will he blow up? They want to see his mental make up. But their are things that the law says you a cannot and shouldn't ask during a job interview. He is being punished because he exposed them. McShay and Mayock are highly connected guys with the league. They may not be directly employed by the league but don't believe for one minute they are not influenced by high ranking league officials. If this issue had been picked up by the right person the NFL could be in deep trouble with the feds for violating labor laws. The NFL and the talking heads are protecting the shield.

I think it is the best thing that could have happened to Guice. This focuses him, puts a chip on his shoulder. Remember this is a kid who came in to LSU and had to be taken out on a stretcher because he was grinding too hard. He will go to a camp and blow shite up .
