exactly and that was the most aggravated I have heard him in a WHILE.

quote:Well then we can look at the 2 games in 2002 that we barely won against conference teams that had no business being that close to an upset. How about the miracle win against UK 33-30 or the 14-13 blow out over Ole Miss. The bottom line is that Saban had one dominate year at LSU and we still lost a game we should not have to UF and needed a busted play miracle to beat UGA. Saban was a very good coach and brought a championship to LSU but the way people talk about how dominate he was is simply not true.
I just don't really put much stock into using the 2004 season as a comparison for Saban. Mentally I think he was on his way out the minute he lifted the crystal ball into the air back in January 2004. There had been all the rumors of NFL teams looking at Saban

True. We could have been 6-6 in '02 easily. Pulled a bunch of rabbits out of his arse in '04,too. Oregon State kicker misses 3 extra points
The Sabanistas need a reality check.Oh,and there was LSU's last trip to Athens.

Songy is no doom and gloomer
Songy has been the biggest lsu cheerleader out there and everyone in the media knows it. Jimmy has always been the one that called it like he saw it. Condon is garbage and doesn't even know some of the player's names.
I cannot agree with you more Methuselah on the your points. I will take it a step further and say something is going on b/c Charles Hanagriff went basically off on the post game last weekend. The eagle is the flagship station for lsu and they usually don't push the envelope and that was the 1st time I seen them every push the envelope. They were never critical of Dinardo.

Hanagriff has usually been a fav of mine, and due to his being a straight-shooter..
Miles and LSU's play must be making him squirm right now, because I would think he doesn't want to fall in line in singing the company propaganda, just due to whom pays his paycheck..
Just as Jordy has to bite his tongue, Kevin Ford, etc..
It is what it is.

I like and respect Charlie. Can you give an example--I believe you, just a "for instance"?

It's spelled "dominant" in the context you used the word. And I don't get why people cite the 2003 Georgia game as an example of Saban's blunders while at LSU. Georgia was ranked #7 and we were #14, or so I believe. Georgia 03 was by no means a doormat opponent. In Saban's first year, he was coaching a team that had won a combined 7 games the previous two seasons.

Hanny got pretty fired up on Saturday. He wasn't calling for anyone's head by ANY means but at the same time you could tell he was pretty pissed off. He went off on this one long rant then some guy called in asking who was going to round out the rotation next season in baseball

Up the gut with Scott TIME AFTER TIME is ALL I need to see.

games TO fricking late.
quote:Hard to say. We have done some good things and some bad things. September is about finding out what you can and can't do. If we still look the same through October then I will say the coaches have not done their job.
So the talent is there but not being coached right????
quote:They already have. Both coordinators and the head coach have been a part of a championship season in the SEC.
But is the coaching??????

Said the playcalling is horrible and there is absolutely no rhyme or reason to it and one of the two (him or rush, don't remember which) said they were going to Athens and if Miles had a play card in his hands he was going to rip it out. REALLY befuddled as to why Shepard was doing good and didn't play the second half.
The biggest thing was he went off and said something like "Look im tired of the crap we hear every week...same stuff...'we wanna do this...we would like to see player X more'...it NEVER happens. If THAT IS WHAT YOU WANT then MAKE IT HAPPEN! YOU are the head coach! YOU make the big bucks! MAKE IT HAPPEN!"

I was on and yes he was with good reason. Miles has taken the playbook away from Crowton. I see NO PASSION in this football team and it ALL falls on Miles. I have said this since day one. The cuboard was full when he got here and it has slowly drifted away.
The few minutes I listened today I actually caught your call. It was actually a very good call which does not happen on Buddy's show to often.

Thanks. Can't really disagree with him,Charlie that is.

Some guy called in the postgame Sat with the same questions on LSU's baseball staff and recruiting, and if it wasn't as a joke, he was Laurence Olivier, sounded like an older man that was being totally on the level.
Posted on 9/28/09 at 7:16 pm to dukke v
quote:Sure it looks that way but that means absolutely nothing this early in the season. Teams can look one way and turn into something else as the season moves on. We have been breaking in a new defense and a young new QB. I would say those are pretty good reasons for this team taking a little longer than others to gel.
BUT tell IN ALL honesty that BAma wouldn't beat LSU by at least 3 td's RIGHT NOW!!!

BOY YOU miss the whole point of this. Saban GOT the players here. Miles rode them and now has NO pot to piss in.

That was right after one of Hanny's rants and you could tell he was just like "are you fricking kidding me?"

I heard your call too PJ. I will talk to Jimmy tomorrow morning. Something is going on. This is the 1st time that everyone in the media has been on the coach's arse in Br.
