Anybody think that Les is slowly becoming the next Larry Coker?
Can we stop with the Larry Coker comparison? Coker took over one of the best football teams in the history of College football...it was absolutely loaded. Miles took over a 3-loss team that was barely in the top 20. Im not saying LSU didnt have talent...but it was no Miami. And Miles has continued to have top 3 classes EVERY year...there has been really not much drop off there. If he doesnt have to kick RP off the team and Pelini doesnt head to Neb., I think LSU is no worse than a 2-loss team last year.
Also Coker had never actually turned a program around. Miles did that at Okie St (ok..not a title contenders, but they were winners and pretty competitive). I just dont get the Coker comparison...they arent even close.

It think his next stop is one more shot at NFL.
First, Miles is not going anywhere for a long time.
That aside, who is the flavor of the month in coaches? Brian Kelly?

The problem is that there are a decent amount of fans who only want one coach here - Saban.
Actually the deal was done for Spurrier had Miles gone to UM.

no. I am not a fan of Kelly. I think he will make a good coach perhaps in the big ten but I hear he not that well liked in the midwest.
my flavor off the month is Kevin Sumlin

For arguments sake, if LSU goes 7-6 or 8-5 this year and then again next year, that probably will be enough and he will be gone. Too much money at stake.

Sumlin is the man. Dude is straight up smooth. Also lives in my neighborhood now.
He has a very Mike Tomlin feel to him and the players will play for him===I promise that.
He's not really a fired up guy like Saban or Muschamp, but he does have some competitive swagger.

yes way too much money. TAF has outstanding projects and still paying for other ones. If miles stinks it up this year and next, we will find the money, he will go bye bye and can go work for Raising Canes.

With a 13-million buyout he could buy Raising Canes twice.

We have yet to play a ranked team. The passion will be there the next 3 games. Watch and see. At Least this team is good enough to win and avoid an upset without being up to play unlike many other top ranked top ranked teams.
Good coaches should have their teams motivated every time they step onto the field. Granted, it won't happen every single game of the year, but I have yet to see this team look motivated or prepared to win.

I really like him and I would imagine Houston will do everything to keep him. Can you imagine the recruiting job he could do here? We know he can coach and gets alot out of his players.

Recruiting experts and football analysts would disagree with you
So the talent is there but not being coached right????

Overall talent level is still good enough to compete for championships.
But is the coaching??????

So why are the records so different??? I mean LOOK at it!!! LSU is slowly falling apart. THER IS NO WAY THIS TEAM should have only beaten MSU by 4. With the SO-called talent they have. NO EXCUSES!!!
I am starting to lose confident in the LSU football staff, but I think Sabans and Miles records TO THIS POINT are actually in Miles favor. Both are undefeated this year so far (subject to dramatic change) and Saban lost two last year, 6 the year before.
Now, I think Alabama is better off for the future. But to this point Sabans record at Bama isn't much better than Miles, in the same time frame.

we have similar personnel to bama, but bama is a complete team. we are not.

I just don't really put much stock into using the 2004 season as a comparison for Saban. Mentally I think he was on his way out the minute he lifted the crystal ball into the air back in January 2004. There had been all the rumors of NFL teams looking at Saban, and I believe that 2004 was a lame-duck season for Saban.

I don't like the guy and I am not saying he should be our coach...BUT you are an idiot if you think he isn't a good coach.
