With the opt outs at defensive line, I was sure that Langston would get in there. I am not sure I ever heard his name called. Did anyone see him out there?

I never saw him out there. Did see a true freshman walk on getting a lot of 4th quarter time and looking like someone that could contribute here and there down the road.

He’s very much a mystery. Very good player coming out of high school. Sometimes, it just doesn’t translate to the next level.

Nope and if he didn't which I don't think he did, Langston can now officially be called a bust! I really thought he would be a big time player.

I disagree. The guy played as a standing edge rusher and lacked explosiveness and doesn’t have the stature to play that in college. He doesn’t have the natural ability to play DT either.

Did not play, no. Found it odd he wasnt in the portal himself considering he basically hasnt played for 2 years now. Still obviously time to get in there now and in the spring period but wondering if he just likes it here even if he's not going to play.

He was a top 200 player in the country and had some natural twitch coming off the ball as an edge. Maybe kicking him inside wasn’t best for him, but he seemed like a much better prospect than he’s been so far. Maybe the light will come on later.

I’m not an insider by any means. But I know a few people and when they got Langston it was thought that LSU had gotten one of the best, of not the best, defensive lineman in that class.

91 Bush? He stood out to me as well. I started a thread on him on the scoreboard right before they shut it down. Requested it moved back here. Don’t know anything about him or if he can actually play, but he looked physically capable of contributing soon.

You say that but what if he got to college and saw he doesn't have "it" but decided to stay and finish a degree. Speaking about busts it was nice to see KHOP out there.

If you watch HS film and dont get the linemen on campus to test like we do now, it is a crap shoot at times. They all look amazing against inferior talent in HS.

The big noses and such are a little easier but when you get out on the perimeter it is so damn hard to assess.

To piggy back this question, Did Tolan see a lot of time? I don't recall.

During the season yes, he played in a bunch of games on defense and special teams.

He did not play in the bowl game, my guess would be injury related.

We went to the end of our bench basically. I wonder if Langston is just hurt.

I just don’t understand how Coach O can say he’s probably one of the best dline man he’s coached. I guess you can take that with a grain of salt since he said Bo Pelini defense was better than Aranda D.
