Did BK really say no to firing Sloan?

Maybe I'm remembering the narrative wrong but wasn't there talks from that post-aggie game meeting where Woodward told BK he had to fire Sloan and Kelly refused, resulting in him being canned on the spot?
BK has zero redeeming qualities and so I'm not sure why he'd die on a hill for anyone. Then again, he was so in over his head here that I could see his drunk arse thinking Sloan was someone he needed to keep.

Some speculate but it’s not known. Have heard other coaches not Sloan as well. O line was atrocious

That’s exactly what happened per reports from people in the know. How refreshing is it each Saturday to know we are well coached, can run the football, and play a brand of football that is fun to watch? None of that was present in 2024 and 2025.

Sloan was his golf swing coach
He wasn't getting rid of that position

That was the narritive that filtered out of LSU after BK was "fired" so it could be "for Cause." I am not sure where that story lost traction but it died early on .
