Did any former band members take the chartered 767 from BTR to Dublin in 2014?

Im just now learning they did not bus the band to MSY for this flight? Did the flight go all the way from BTR to Dublin without refueling or was there a refueling stop in Bangor? The 7500 foot runway at BTR would be a stretch for a nearly full 767.

That wasn’t for any band members. I went through New York. Some went through Houston or Atlanta.

We were all over the place

And you're so concerned about this in 2026 that you felt it needed a thread on the Rant.

"Marching Band Curley Hallman" (Roy King) representing LSU in Dublin Ireland is still a major event for many of us Tiger Band Alums.

I liked him more than Linda but only because he was less of an a-hole to me.

LRM was my favorite hard arse all the time. Still bitter that wasn’t me going to Ireland, We did fun stuff, a couple SECCG’s, on the field for the 2007 natty, Rex, ESPN battle of the bands winner, etc…

But Ireland? Should have been the bands led by LRM and Wickes.

Mr. King was (and still is) the only band director in LSU history to take the band on an international trip/performance. He actually took the band on two international trips......Ireland and Hong Kong.
