I did not see the broadcast but I did not need to - I got the jist of it...and the unfair part was on Dick and ESPN. If anything you give a cursory mention not a long graphic followed up by a statement that recruits should be wary....that's unfair.

And as for positive, I'm sure he spoke positive about Dale all day...ironic given what many of us and likely Dick too, know about Dale's past as a coach/

No other LSU tournament game made a mention of it and it hadn't been brought up for a long time until Dick called a game. Also, it was so completely out of place in such a great game (and it came right when LSU took the lead). It was a big story last year. Right now, it's not a story at all. There is nothing new and no one trying to watch the game gave a shite. If he wanted to bring that up, he had pre-game to do it.

Do you think he would flash that kind of graphic about his greaseball buddy Pitino's issues when doing a tournament game? HELL NO.

Confirmation that it was a hit piece on LSU is that Alabama is also waiting on an NOA from the NCAA.

NC State, Kansas, Arizona, Louisville, OK State, South Carolina, USC and TCU all have NOAs. Auburn allegedly has theirs. Alabama and Creighton are waiting. Yet LSU is front and center.

And you right, it was hit piece and Dick I have no doubt begged to get it on the broadcast. He has an agenda, and juvenile Twitter wars with LSU fans has only made him more biased and compromised on that.

The FBI investigation is over, the NCAA has all the information it is going to get from the DOJ.

The NCAA has a bunch of anonymous sourced information and unsubstantiated allegations/complaints from other coaches. However, under NCAA bylaws, it cannot use anonymously sourced information as evidence to issue a Notice of Allegations.

That is why the NCAA referred it to the Independent Review Panel along with a nasty letter to LSU because it knows it does not have enough to support an NOA with L1/L2 charges. The NCAA knew the letter would get out on a public record request so it could save face. Now when the independent panel says not enough evidence, the NCAA can claim it tried.

Long story short, unless the NCAA or panel departs from the current bylaws, everything now is the NCAA saving face.

ETA. I expect some low tier allegation to be levied, but nothing substantial. Will be a big nothing burger for the Pat Forde and Dick Vitale’s of the world.
