Nobody is (or should be) saying that White isn't a great player if he isn't a top 5 pick. But odds are Arizona is taking Murray because that's Kingsbury's guy, and Bosa and William's are essentially everyone else's top 2 defensive picks. The Raiders need a pass rusher badly, and that isn't White.

would have to have a Ray Lewis type of career to justify being the no.1 overall pick. Having a top 10 QB is more important in the NFL then having even the best overall MLB in the game.
Name one QB in this draft that even projects as a top 10 QB.

Not saying he should be 1 overall, but if there was a draft it could/should happen, it's this one.

Own a team do you? Head of the scouting department? Head coach? Maybe you're a DC?

I think so. If a young Patrick Willis was in this class would you take him number 1? White can easily be a Willis type

Here is a list of all the LBs taken first overall. 4 total and one was both a center and LB (Played both ways in college and the NFL)

1949 Chuck Bednarik C, LB Penn Philadelphia Eagles Pro Bowl (1950, 1951, 1952, 1953, 1954, 1955, 1956, 1960) Pro Football Hall of Fame (1967) NFL Champion (1949, 1960)

1966 Tommy Nobis* LB Texas Atlanta Falcons Pro Bowl (1966, 1967, 1968, 1970, 1972)

1979 Tom Cousineau LB Ohio State Buffalo Bills

1988 Aundray Bruce LB Auburn Atlanta Falcons

I don't think it's a position that goes 1 very often.

Here is the list since the last time a LB went first

2018 - QB - Baker Mayfield - Cleveland Browns
2017 - DE - Myles Garrett - Cleveland Browns
2016 - QB - Jared Goff - Los Angeles Rams
2015 - QB - Jameis Winston - Tampa Bay Buccaneers
2014 - DE - Jadeveon Clowney - Houston Texans
2013 - OT - Eric Fisher - Kansas City Chiefs
2012 - QB - Andrew Luck - Indianapolis Colts
2011 - QB - Cam Newton - Carolina Panthers
2010 - QB - Sam Bradford - St. Louis Rams
2009 - QB - Matthew Stafford - Detroit Lions
2008 - OT - Jake Long - Miami Dolphins
2007 - QB - JaMarcus Russell - Oakland Raiders
2006 - DE - Mario Williams - Houston Texans
2005 - QB - Alex Smith - San Francisco 49ers
2004 - QB - Eli Manning - San Diego Chargers
2003 - QB - Carson Palmer - Cincinnati Bengals
2002 - QB - David Carr - Houston Texans
2001 - QB - Michael Vick - Atlanta Falcons
2000 - DE - Courtney Brown - Cleveland Browns
1999 - QB - Tim Couch - Cleveland Browns
1998 - QB - Peyton Manning - Indianapolis Colts
1997 - OT - Orlando Pace - St. Louis Rams
1996 - WR - Keyshawn Johnson - New York Jets
1995 - RB - Ki-Jana Carter - Cincinnati Bengals
1994 - DT - Dan Wilkinson - Cincinnati Bengals
1993 - QB - Drew Bledsoe - New England Patriots
1992 - DT - Steve Emtman - Indianapolis Colts
1991 - DT - Russell Maryland - Dallas Cowboys
1990 - QB - Jeff George - Indianapolis Colts
1989 - QB - Troy Aikman - Dallas Cowboys

It's pretty clear what position NFL teams value in that period.

QB 18
DE 4
OT 3
DT 3
RB 1
WR 1

From the outset of the draft

QB - 31 - Last 2018
RB - 23 - Last 1995
DL - 15 - Last 2017
OL - 8 - Last 2013
WR - 3 - Last 1996
LB - 4 - Last 1988
DB - 1 - Last 1956

Since 2001 you're talking ab 13 QBs, 3 DEs, and 2 OTs.

Arizona needs upgrades at offensive tackle and wide receiver. 49ers need a safety and red zone WR options.

AZ definitely needs help on the OL, but the defensive front 7 could use an upgrade. As a Cardinal fan, I hope they end up trading down somewhere between 5-10 and getting that teams 2nd round pick as well get Bosa or White in the 1st and go after OL in the 2nd and 3rd. WR isn't the strength it used to be, but it does you no good to have WRs when the QB is getting hit as he comes out from under center and the RB is getting hit at the point of hand off.

It seemed pretty clear by the post I quoted that the specific member doesn't believe White is good enough to be picked that high.

These are very fair answers to the OP's question. I don't disagree with you, either. My only point is that if those teams situations were different, White could, in theory, be the top overall pick.
