Some of the POW awards were in stats alone. White won it one week after he had his worst game of the year, but did record decent stats on downfield tackles.

If your not on the preseason list it doesn’t matter what you do during the season. It’s a shame bc the preseason list basically includes over 50 players or more

All tackles are not the same. What do solo tackles and tackles for loss numbers look like. IMO, the key to a Run stopping middle linebacker is how many of those tackles were made to keep the gain to 3 yards or less.

Minter was a great middle linebacker at LSU because he filled the gaps. You weren’t gaining more than 3 yards running up the middle at him. White isn’t there yet! I believe he will be next year and with his speed he will be a 1st rounder.

True dat, you got a lot of downvotes, but that's just from people that don't know football, and probably don't understand what you're saying to them, so I'll spell it out a lil more. You are 100 % right because White is just playing off of pure athletic ability right now, and next season he should be much improved with regards to technique and football smarts. He needs to realize that you want to make the hits behind the line of scrimmage as much as possible or at least at the line of scrimmage. He's a young kid that is playing off of pure adrenalin right now and is satisfied with just using his great speed to make plays all over the place even though a lot of them are for positive yards by the opposing offense. I'm sure Aranda will have him realize that now, and he will too through natural maturity and knowing that I need to make these stops for minus yards. Minter was better at not only filling the holes like you are saying, but he was much better at reading plays to be in position for the hit than White is right now, but I expect White to be just like that next season.

A lot of the country still doesn't know the kid or didn't know the kid before the start of this season which is why he got disrespected with regards to the Butkus award, but they know who he is now. He should win it hands down next season with the great ability that he has, but I still wonder how he would have made out at RB. Lol
