Peter Parrish has been here for a year as well. I’m not wasting a 4 year scholarship spot on someone to come in as a maybe. And he isn’t coming here without a guarantee to start with only one year left.

I agree. Bring in good players and have competition for starting roles

Not sure why so many are resistant to the idea

Because he only has one year left. He’s not coming here without a guarantee to start. Which means Brennan is certainly out the door losing two years of him. Then king leaves and your back to a RS sophomore or freshman starting for you again.

Even if you brought King in and Brennan still wins the job, then you wasted a 4 year spot to a guy who’s gonna ride the bench for one year?

Sure, he could be awesome. But that one outcome is the only good one out of many other bad ones.

Not reading the whole thread, so mea culpa if germans, but did not this kid quit on his teammates, walking off early in the season? The polar opposite of super competitive JB ?

Watching him play one game is not much of “actually seeing him play”

The same burrow that transferred because he wouldn’t start?

That knife cuts both ways. Learn the back ground on why he stopped playing

Are you worried that Drew Brees is the Saint's QB?

No because Drew Brees is an extremely accurate Hall of Fame QB in the perfect system for his skillset.

Are you saying D’Eriq King is all of that? Because if he is then why are we even debating this?

Brady will develop freshmen quarterbacks like nothing we've never seen before.

I really like King, but I don't think he could grasp the offense in the fee months he'll have here.

If he could though, this offense could be just as potent as it was this year. Dude had basically 3000 pass yards and 36 TDs in 10.5 games. He also ran for 675 yards and another 14 TDs in that span. Versus the two power 5 teams he played, he passed for almost 700 yards 9 TDs, and rushed for 70 yards 3 TDs. He pretty much had 750 yards and 12 TDs vs two power 5 schools (although neither had a defense worth a crap).

I'm team Brennan and think he'll beat out any guy that wants the spot, but if somehow King comes here and wins the starting job, be prepared for another ridiculous offense. Remember Baker Mayfield to Kyler Murray? Well this would be part two, IF he managed to win the job.

Sooooo you don’t think there is a difference in a graduate transfer and a junior transfer?

A lot of people have speculated that we are leaving a spot open for a transfer (any transfer, nothing specific). The outcome if the guy turns out to be another Jalen Hurts would be insane. Trust me, getting King for even a year of competition is way better than a guy that may never see the field outside of special teams play (which happens every single year in recruiting).

Either way, LSU will be good next year. I still expect Brennan to be the lead man regardless of who comes here.

NOPE....He QUIT...He is nothing but a MY WAY kind of guy... He would do LSU more harm than good... ZERO reason taking a chance on a guy that is so immature that he will QUIT after 4 games after things did not go his way...

I have trouble wondering why you won't see this .............

I've watched him play, and he could run this offense, it's just, can he beat out Brennan? It's funny how you say that, but you're basing your whole opinion on his play on one game.

Dude should be playing at a big program. Hell, he was playing good even before that big season he had. His early situation is Trevone Boykin like. He was a QB/ATH, and they had him playing a skill position at first. Moved him back to QB and when 5 star talents were failing along with seasoned vets, he came in and played damn good. That whole pass game is bad now since Holgerson came in. Holgerson actually asked several players would they redshirt with King being one of them. You don't ask a senior starting QB to redshirt unless you really want to play a proper season with him. Kinda like getting a do-over.

Tiger Ree, maybe you can answer this question.

Can we take a graduate transfer on the roster in 2020?

There has been a lot of discussion on this board about not being able to take a grad transfer this year because of issues with Terrance Alexander and issues he had, do you know what the facts are?
