D-Byrd came in at only 6'0???

www.lsusports.net has him listed as 6'3.

Don't read too much into these combine results. They are inflated numbers for most because motivated atheletes (i.e. Byrd) know they can increase their stock by practicing the drills like crazy. Their relevance to football play on the field is overestimated. In my humble opinion.

Either way, congrats for him. I hope it gets him where he wants to be.

ESPN ScoutsINC. just reported Byrd at 4.39, 6th fastest so far. Either way we already knew he was fleet.

Where do you guys see him being drafted, will the injuries to Crabtree and Macklin have any affect on where Byrd might be drafted?

Yes. 6 foot even. lsusports.net roster typically does a good job getting within an inch of the actual height but apparently they really screwed him up. He was listed at 6'2 as a junior and 6'3 as a senior.

His OFFICIAL 40 time came in at 4.42...little disappointing, but still quick.

Did y'all check out big Herm? He's the heaviest guy by 30 lbs of the OL and still only the 4th slowest in the group. Except for maybe on screen plays, how much does being .3 seconds slower make a difference at Guard?

Huh?

They are the official times as reported by the laser timer...

They are the times anyone can see for themselves.

i know as of 2 years ago the laser times weren't released until the reports were sent out

i have never heard of that changing, but it may have

the company that runs the combine stands to lose a lot of money if anyone can see the official times
