I think LSU last year was a good defense, not great, not even very good, but good. I think 5th in SEC in scoring and maybe 8th in total defense. We were 34th in NCAA in scoring defense at 22 points per game and giving up 342 yards per game which was top 50.

A top 50 defense is all you would need to win a championship this season with the way the offense has played. Many teams have won championships without having a lock down top 10 defense. Anything above 50th can get it done with an electric offense.

Instead this coaching staff has produced a historically bad sub 100 defense. That's inexcusable for a program like LSU.

A coaches job is to either adjust to the players he has and find a defense scheme that works. Or, if you don't have the players needed to run your scheme, then go get new players. Everyone of these defensive coaches have failed the program. They are not coaching up the guys they have and they are not recruiting well to get new players.

I also heard the announcers talking about House not being able to run his defense because of the players. It sounded like BK trying to justify keeping House around another year. It seems one of BK's faults is excuse making, but I don't see how he could excuse this wasted season and wasting this offense.

House has to go. The recruits are not coming and the guys on campus are not getting better. That's on coaching.

They both deserve blame.. do I believe house is underperforming and questionable at times with his scheme? Absolutely.

But to act like this group is talented out of this world is a joke. We are a very thin unit. Staff knows the key to the success isn’t having to rely on the portal to build your defense. Recruiting and development will take a a little time. The positive part to this year is the young guys are getting PT and hopefully taking their lumps.
