re: Defensive coaches are "not happy" about their D's adjustment to the new offense.

You can throw out all the names you want but you're not convincing me that our offense will change until I see it.
You are an after-the-fact stats guy. No worries. The world needs bookkeepers.

And nobody cares about your infatuation with O and Burrow. You have every right to feel that way but everyone who has a different opinion has their right to it as well.
Neither you, nor I, know what this football season brings.

Orgeron is the walking epitome of this administration and it shows why his bosses love him. Why would you keep bringing attention to this change in offense and hyping it up in the spring? Other than trying to play to your fan base, what purpose does this serve?
I answered my own question because his comments are a way to public address concerns about the offense. In other words, they’re a response to public grumbling. That’s how LSU works. Somebody’s saying something bad about you on the public. Do something to placate them.
And I’ll believe these changes are effective when I see it. We’ve been hearing LSU’s offense will be more dynamic for a decade now.

What? You don't even know me. Are you saying this because I don't share your jubilation of something that hasn't happened? I'm a very optimistic person but I'm also a realist.
If LSU has a shot at beating Bama, the offense that Brady lays out is the one that can do it. Probably the only one. LSU won't out-muscle them. Not happening.
Clemson spanked Bama with an offense similar to the basic concept Brady discussed at the coaches' clinic on Friday.

This makes sense as a point somewhere in your head.

In related news, the LSU coaches are installing red zone plays with Russell Shepard at QB that will be impossible to stop once the season starts.
Ironically, probably the only LSU offense that would have caught Saban with his pants down.
I still don't understand why we just don't throw the kitchen sink at them. At this point, our fan base has ZERO positive expectations concerning the gumps. I would spring all kind of new plays on them.

The offensive line needs work, looking at Cregg here. Both in pass protection and in run blocking. And for goodness sakes, use the TE more than just for blocking.
The OC needs work and we need to stop playing down to our opponents.
Catch the balls thrown.
That's just a few things that need to be worked on on offense and no, that isn't dogging the players at all.
This is not the equivalent of hating O or wishing he fails. Write it down.
I've tried repeatedly in this forum to discuss what the offensive line has to do to get better, I've pointed out the flaws in our favorite blocking schemes, yet somehow I'm bashing players and trashing the team. Somehow I'm shifting blame from the coaches to the players who apparently are fragile and can't handle criticism. Somehow I'm spreading propaganda. The propaganda narrative is stupid and needs to go away.
For what it's worth I can't imagine anyone not believing that the offense won't be a hundred percent better. Too much talent coming back, too much talent coming in, and players that weren't ready this past season will have matured mentally and physically. Charles looked good in the couple of plays that I saw the other day. Deculus looked good in straight ahead blocking.
Joe Brady will be the difference this fall.

AND, in that case, both Ensminger and Orgeron are to be highly commended for leaving their egos out of the equation. It can be very tough for old dogs to give talented young coaches room to work their magic.

quote:If that offense is not implemented, E would be a goner, and O wouldn't be far behind him.
Doubt we ever see it
But I doubt that is even remotely an issue. In fact, E & O almost certainly initiated the search for Brady, and should get full credit for the hire.
Bottom line: The Spread/RPO offense WILL be in full force in 2019. No chance in hell that it won't.
