Was the absolute laziness on that last ole miss scoring drive by the defense. I know ole miss ran 88 plays and they were tired. But we couldn’t even line up bc guys were walking to their spots and not hustling. On both 2nd down plays in ole miss territory still. So a chance to still win, players were not lined up and ole miss got big plays. A 10+ yard run by judkins and then a 24 yard pass.
I know guys were shot, but game was on the line. Have some pride.

I think they were letting them score at some point to get the ball back.

Kelly’s plan wasn’t a good one

I understand at the end of the drive. But this was the start and still in ole miss territory. Have some pride and try to stop them.

Agree with this. After they got into the red zone, that was the best option. You have to think after last week that scenario was probably discussed quite a bit.

We should’ve let them score sooner. We were lucky to even have the chance, Ole Miss shouldn’t fallen down at the one.

The guys on defense look totally lost. Most of them just don't seem to care. I would switch some of the offensive backups to defense. Got to try something at this point.

Team just doesn’t have a winners mentality, hence why they quit in the 2nd half against Florida State.

It was horrible effort from the beginning. There was no effort from the first play. Maason Smith looked like the most out of shape don’t care player I’ve ever seen. I just looked at he has made 3 tackles this season.

While i dont disagree with your post and also haven't rewatched that defensive travesty - I'm wondering if all the substitutions Brian called far had our defense scrambling and out of position.

They were obviously going to score on that drive. That’s why it was fricking retarded to run a rollout pass with 3 WRs in the same spot on the field on 3rd and 5 instead of running it and setting up a 4th and short for the game pretty much

Gotta make those key catches AND your defense has to make key stops. To say LSU's defense is porous is an understatement. I'm sitting here trying to remember a more miserable defensive performance by an LSU Team. Nick Saban and Bama are gonna maul this LSU team.

IMO Jayden Daniels and the offense did an outstanding job (key drops being the exception), but the collapse of the defense just kept forcing LSU into constant do-or-die situations. At that point, it became a toss-up.

So right now, as far as the season goes? I'm thinking, at best 8-4 possibly 7-5 with an invite to a minor bowl. But with a defense like that I dare say even 6-6 is possible.

Not good.

I agree with all of this.

Offense shut down in the latter half of the 4th, Ole Miss kept playing.

Our last two drives sucked, theirs rocked. They were more aggressive than we were and it paid off.

quote:

Ole Miss Rebels TOUCHDOWN
10 PLAYS, 65 YARDS, 3:28

LSU Tigers PUNT
4 PLAYS, 20 YARDS, 2:30

Ole Miss Rebels TOUCHDOWN
8 PLAYS, 88 YARDS, 1:57

LSU Tigers END OF GAME
6 PLAYS, 49 YARDS, 0:39

Defense was horrid on both sides...Ole Miss did the better job of clock management in the 4th where it counts....

Coaches telling the kicker to squib kick it and it ending up on the 34 after OM was penalized would’ve made me lose hope in the leadership at that point.

I agree. Unfortunately once you have 2 losses the rest of the season is trying to play for a decent bowl IMHO. I hate losses like this though. LSU was known for always have a stout defense. BK has got to get some “dogs” out of the portal for next year. I think our offense will be ok with Nuss under center.

Agree. And even worse to me is Kelly doesn’t seem to challenge them.
