2016- 5th ranked
2017- 14th ranked
2018- 26th ranked
2019- 31st ranked

Thoughts? Think it was our fast paced offense still, or was it scheme

It was the SEC coming out of the Stone Age offensively.

What were their yard per play ranks?

He was looking for his HC opportunity and mentally checked out.

Not too happy how the decline was. With all of the drafted talent.....

What if we still had the coach E air raid offense and no Brady, I'd bet we don't win 10 games in 19

Aranda was great.

Pelini will be great (again).

DA was perhaps the most masterful of game time adjustments I've seen

It’s hard to just look at a yardage stat as the be all end all marker. Our defense lost A LOT of guys for a fairly sizeable chunk of this past season. Our offense scored at breakneck speed putting our defense right back out time and time again.

The defense improved significantly over the course of the year and peaked in our biggest games when it was its healthiest.

In modern college football it’s gonna be pretty damn rare to score in 2-3 mins AND continuously shut out the opposition. We actually did that in several of the games people like to bitch about (see Ole Miss) while the game was actually in balance. Personally I don’t give a shite what we give up when you get out to a 31-0 lead and continue to score in the second half.

Yeah all of those losses were hard to take, especially this year.

Only on the rant do posters shite on the defense and defensive coach on a team that went undefeated and won the National Championship.

I swear, some of you aren't happy unless LSU scored 50 points per game and the opposition scored 0.

LSU played some top teams - you think the defense didn't get a workout?

Wasn’t this at one point in time a knock against Pelini?

Did it look progressively worse down the stretch? Tell Alabama, Arky, aTm, UGA, Oklahoma and Clemson that. They don't believe you.

we played some pretty damn good offenses this year, take the ranking with a grain of salt; we were stacked on defense.

2016 defense was very talented. 2017 and 2018 had weaker DL's which is a key to Aranda's 3-4 scheme. 2019 had a good solid DL, but too many injuries at key positions for part of the year.
