Did you think our offense was any better than a mid-level SEC offense? You need to check your expectations. The defense was supposed to carry the team this year.

- QB has been with this team for 2 months
- O-Line has been a revolving door with injuries
- No headline RB
- New faces at WR

... but you expect us to put up 30 against the best defense we've seen all year.

In August, did you expect our offense to be in the top 10 in the nation?

Did you think they would be on the same level as the defense?

It was widely known that the offense was going to struggle against good defenses and the defense and special teams was going to have to take over games with turnovers and field position. The defense folded in crunch time when the offense got you the lead.

The OP can definitely be true without meaning that Burrow is better than the defense.

Burrow and the defense are really what’s keeping the team afloat.

And, how 'bout the offense not giving up points for starters

Burrow is defiantly a good surprise. A huge upgrade over what Etling gave us. And he will get better. It just sucks that the offensive line has struggled to stay on the field with injuries and the Ingram suspension.

There was a lot reasons we lost to Florida! The biggest disappointment was LSU'S LACK OF DEFENSE!!! We looked like a high school defensive line on Sat. Better have a pass rush this week or it is going to get ugly quickly!

You're missing my point. I know the offense would look like shite at times during the season. Especially on the road against great defenses. I expected it. I knew we'd have to win a lot of 20-16 games because our offense would be limited.

Why, 6 games into the season, are you appalled that the offense isn't on par with Drew Brees and the Saints?

Defense is always there but rarely does the first guy make the tackle. They look out of control many times. Break down and make the tackle. That and learn how to defend the option its only been around for 50 years.

Burrow looks like Drew Brees when he has the time to throw.

The LSU passing offense ranks 86 in the nation and the LSU QB rating is around tenth among SEC teams.

There was nothing but conjecture fueling the, one of the best defenses around chatter.

Six games to go and we are staring three to four loses or more right in the face. Damn disturbing three years after making a coaching change after a 9-3 season.

LSU is a young team starting a new QB and dealing with a host of injuries on the O-line, yet despite all that, LSU’s offense has been nearly unstoppable in the beginner of the first half, has been able regain the lead in the second half. LSU was always going to have to rely on its defense this year, but it’s been irratic to put it mildly.

Why hasn’t Arnada blitzed more is what’s baffling me. 3 or 4 guys trying to get pressure on the QB when there are 5-6 guys protecting the QB just doesn’t sound smart to me. Need to start blitzing more with the LBs

100% agree, delayed blitzed with White/Phillips should be our bread and butter. Bringing one of them as a 5th pass rusher has been successful for us. Example, Auburn game. We were able to negate the run game with this philosophy also.

“I got crushed after the game for saying the loss was on the defense.”

Don’t ever offer genuine insight right after a tough loss. Too many vaginal hormones being released.

Everyone knew the LSU defense was going to have to carry this team at times, actually the offense has held its own against Aub and Miami so this was really the first time it tried to lean heavily on the defense,

The lasting image I will remember is the offense getting us the lead in the 4th quarter and then a bad Florida offense went down the field in 2 minutes to essentially score the game winning TD mostly with running the ball right at us.

So you’re gonna forget the 2 picks the offense threw with 3 minutes to get into fieldgoal range. Which is like the 35 yard line.

I agree Though, the offense the rest of the game was completely forgettable.

The defense carries us all seasonoutaide a few games vs trash teams.

We beat Auburn 22-21. That’s not anlights out perfoamce.

We’ve done this for years. Blaming the defense for not protecting 19 points, 17 points.

10 points.

This isn’t Texas Oklahoma.

Etling would take a ton of sacks putting the offense in horrible down and distance situations.

Burrow seems to have a much better pocket presence. He stands in there and delivers the ball on time, for the most part. Pretty impressive for a guy that's been on campus for 2 months.

I thought Franks looked pretty terrible regardless of time to throw

Agreed. He hit a couple of throws that hurt, but was till at 44% for the day. The blown cover by the safety leading to touchdown was th ebiggest but otherwise he was barely over 100 yards passing. His running and option decisions actually hurt more.

This defense would have given up only 10 point with Phillips and Chaisson playing last Saturday
