3) I think this is actually a solid defensive play against a really tough scheme. 8 has to fight down the line with the puller in front of him. He’s in charge of the dive player usually, so he seems to be correct.
So the DE has the dive even with trips on his side? If the OLB, CB, and S get run out by the trips, there's no one left on that edge if the DE is assigned to the dive.

ps - Not arguing with you, just asking. I'm surely no expert , my intention was to point out how many plays there is no one there (not trying to blame anyone in particular but Clark got the brunt of my anaysis )

Just watching the sec n 60 LSU highlights shows how bad 18 is hurting the D. If he makes half the plays he missed we win by 2 scores. Weve been spoiled at the Mike position N recent years under Aranda. Damone just isn’t living up to his hype. Coaches should have moved Jacoby n off season to that spot esp as deficient as we look Rt now. But someone needs to step
In if he doesn’t up his game

These plays highlights that guys on this team are scared of contact. And they are just as strong just as fast as the other team.need beeter leverage and more violence.

having a MLB that plays like a fricking CB that won't hit anyone in the mouth and hopes his team mates will finish plays for him. WTF watching clark play like this since miss st I just don't get it. He must show out in practice, wtf is he missing. If you don't know what's going on then at least go ball out and take someone's head off and cause that guy to think twice next time he sees you looking around wild eyed jacked ready to go on other side of the line.

Common it just makes me so mad seeing the leader on defense not finishing plays or giving 100%

wow. i just find it hard to believe either of the freshman LB’s can’t play better than that

I agree. There are just some basics about playing the position that should be there regardless of scheme. Reading and reacting to the ball, knowing how to avoid blocks, knowing how to cover your hook zones, containment, filling cut-back lanes, etc... if you have been playing linebacker, these all should be natural abilities. It's too late to teach that at college level.

In my experience the has the dive 99% of the time meaning the man headed downhill (could be a RB, could be a QB). It could be a game plan piece to have a call to exchange responsibilities to mess up reads.

It’s hard to tell without knowing the call and being able to see the field. Everybody has a trips check. Most people bump linebackers (which we did), some roll the safeties. The corner at the top looks like man, but Clark looks like he’s trying to wall the crossing route? Not 100% sure. We should have 4 over their 3 there though so it’s covered. On defense a 3 yard gain is acceptable for me. 2nd and 7, 3rd and 4, get off the field.

On the other side of the field imagine if 8 hadn’t forced the pull. We don’t have an OLB out there anymore, so if the DE spills the first puller, the second puller takes the ILB if he flows over the top or safety, and it’s one on one in space at best.
