Good point. Just don't try to sell LSU football as competing for championships, because we don't.

And every single one of those schools have run off other coaches who can't win the division. Fact check that

Some people will bitch about anything they can, simply because.

Nick Saban - 7.0 million (8-1)
almost unanimously recognized as the best coach in the game;
but if he was here: no title since 2012, should have an asterisk on 2011 since LSU won the SEC West and Conference titles, has failed to produce since using Texas to squeeze more money out of the AD, 2 game losing streak to Freeze and Ole Miss, 2 game bowl losing streak. Spread offenses run his defense off the field. Fire that bastard

You don't need either of the two extremes to be successful. I like Les as a person. I think he's a good man, but his management style and coaching acumen are what leads LSU to this middling wasteland. People can see how much promise this team has on the one hand but see how much it is wasted on the other.

Again, being a good man doesn't entitle him to be one of the highest paid coaches in the country along with one of the highest paid staffs in the country and to look ill prepared.

Being a great human being doesn't mean you can straight blow at your job at random points. This is the real world. If you blow a business deal, for example, based on incompetence or your horrid decision-making, then you deserve to be fired if it happens multiple times.

I wonder how would A loss to Memphis would go over here.

Further criticisms Saban would have if the Bama fanbase acted like ours:
Terrible clock management and lack of preparation led to an embarrasing loss to instate rival (Auburn), due to idiotic decision to try longshot FG rather than play for OT.

Loss to fricking Ohio State of the B1G, embarrassing the entire conference on a national stage, as well as displaying the fact that the team was completely unprepared and unfocused (because we were clearly better, but allowed them to run up such a big lead).

Allowing the Big 12 newbie A&M team to humiliate the entire conference by losing to them their first year, while goofy-arse Les Miles remains undefeated against them. This is intolerable, no matter how many 59-0 games follow in the series.

Blake Sims, and now Jake Coker? First you have a mediocre QB that isn't drafted, and now a transfer QB. For God's sake, you brought in Lane Kiffin because he's supposed to be some offensive guru, and you can't recruit and develop a QB worth a damn. What a joke.

The name is PayLesLess and you think his overpaid, but think that he is great now because he is a great guy who was there for a special kid.

Did we hire the head coach to be a great guy or win hardware when you have top 3 talent? I do not think Bama has more talent than we do. We are right there with them.

They are better coached and prepared than our talent. It doesn't take having better talent to beat them. You just have to out-scheme their scheme and strengths. Not just be a loving, caring guy, but win compete in the biggest games. We have lost nearly every big game over the last 4 years. Time for some changes in philosophy to match the opponent.

I've been a huge Les supporter almost to a fault. However, after Saturday night, the frustration hit me hard. This team was unprepared to play in a game that was for all the marbles. Knock BAMA out of contention and control your destiny. There has been zero (if not worse) signs of special teams improvement and we are 8 games into the season. The in-game coaching and adjustments just don't seem to take place. Players look unprepared and play very undisciplined. Bottom line, I would like to see a change. It all has to be done carefully and with class. Make him some kind of offer to retire after the 2016 season as a Tiger. Must keeps would be Orgeron, Wilson, Raymond and maybe Grimes (not sold on Cam or Steele so the new hire could bring in an ace OC and DC with recruiting backgrounds). This is not as easy as it sounds but I see nothing wrong with preparing now for an eventual change. LSU has to have a more tactical approach from it's coaches on game plans and player development. Miles is a great man and sells LSU very well to top recruits. But top recruits without developed skills and effective game planning gets what you saw Saturday night.

Let's do a thought experiment and say Nick Saban was available next year and wanted to return to LSU.

So it's a choice between Les and Nick.

Now no doubt Nick is an a-hole. My cousin, who worked in the athletic department for years, told me how happy they were back in 2005 at the change in the offices when Les would walk through as opposed to Nick.

Now--I would not want a coach who embarrasses the program like Bobby Petrino.

However, within the context of just being an a-hole/having a bad personality but wins multiple championships and is probably the greatest college coach of all time ...

versus a very good family man/zany personality who is a very good coach but will never be great ...

Give me the a-hole Saban every time.

I won't be hanging out with him. I don't care whether he's a "good person."

I want a decent guy , not a prick and 9-3 is fine with me. This is just a game - your salvation does not depend on winning the NC

Les is not going to be fired. We can work with him. We just need more creativity both on O and D.

I'm sure that Les is hearing all about this from every angle, including the administration, as we speak.

I'm not going to downvote you.

You probably represent the majority of this board.

God, I hope you don't represent the majority of the overall fan base.

And fortunately, you don't represent some TAF higher-ups, who are starting to get a bit displeased with our lovable coach who has now lost five in a row to Nick Saban and bama.
