Never forget. LSU operates as a microcosm of Louisiana. If you expect good leadership look elsewhere.

This is what I immediately though when I opened the thread. Well said.

That’s actually incorrect sir. Richt was 10-3, Les was 9-3. They actually fired him with a better record.

As much as I fricking HATE Alleva, Les Miles - as we all know - was fired for opening up the season 2-2 with a fricking hard headed God awful offense he refused to change.

After we beat Texas A&M and everyone was cheering because they thought it saved Les Miles job.. That's the only reason they didn't fire him then.
What? Les himself thought that was it. That’s why he brought his family out to midfield. Everyone was cheering out of respect. Everyone, including Les, thought that was i it.

They bowed down because F King told Alleva not to do it due to political pressure.

The thing is- LSU athletics gives money to LSU academics. Alleva should have said “let me do my job or fire me”

The government stepped in and regulated a private market. Alleva should have laughed in their face but he’s a spineless bitch.

Absolutely but many of us were screaming in 2015 to make the move.

If we make the move Jimbo Fisher is our Head Coach. We didn’t and now Ed Orgeron is. You tell me which was the right play.

That’s the razor thin difference between an alpha and a beta. Alleva allowed himself to be muzzled. He operates a self funded portion of the university. He allowed he govener and president of the university to make the decision.

10 times out of 10 Woodward makes that move.

That’s why Woodward is great and Alleva is a lame duck.

Even if jumbo didn’t come in 2015 that means anyone but O is head coach.

Herman was next.

The deal was done with Jimbo Sexton agreed to 6 years 35 mil fully garunteed. LSU backed out. Not Jimbo.

100% agree with you on Alleva. He is a beta, cuck, worm, weasel, rat, snake, shite stained brown noser.

In my profession, I have to prepare and deliver many speeches. It's quite easy to point out when someone is uncomfortable doing it. LSU's athletic "leader" delivers some of the worst speeches to the public I've ever seen. He completely wants to avoid them at all costs. I've never seen anything like it. For a man to hold such a high position within a department who is responsible for over $100 million yearly to be so inept at public relations (this to me is a HUGE part of his job description) is a flat out disgrace.

Well evidently they must have hired a few internet shills to blow sunshine up everyone's butts and shout down the doubters.

The Emmert/Saban days were the anomaly.

LSU is just back to business as usual.

They will. I hope literally everyone is run out of the athletic department. Some good people there but the vast majority are complacent and refuse to adapt or listen to their customers.

The OP should be upvoted 1,000,000 times. When is LSU going to get it?!?!?

I definitely wasn't fricking celebrating Les keeping his job. If we would have fired him then we'd have Jimbo right going into his third year right now

LSU has a PR department. Many fans on this very board complain about it almost daily by calling out any article or poster that is remotely positive about O, E, offense or even LSU...

If LSU goes 1 - 2 first 3 games, maybe even 2-1 depending on how it plays out, our local media will probably personally crucify Ed O. After last year, and this year, he's bringing in many familiar faces, Sullivan .. promoting Ensminger … it'll just be too much. It won't just be a talent or schedule thing, it will be fans looking up and seeing a return of the 90s, with the same good ole boy network.

On the other hand, if Ed O pulls it out this year - he can tell everyone to kiss it he knows what he's doing. I can tell you, we've lost every PR battle we've had and that's why I've consistently said the next coaching hire is going to have to be a big name. Jimbo and Kirby are prime examples - their names alone boost their universities PR strength.

Looking back on it, what was our PR department even supposed to do when Ed O mentioned that Troy was the first time he meddled, but he meddled? Pete Jenkins is a great coach, but him, Sullivan, Ensminger… O's already given negative PR the driver and put the Tee in the ground and placed that Topflight XL on the tee. If LSU loses first game - that's the back swing.... winning or losing the auburn game would probably just be a matter of whether you are in the rough or out of bounds. Terrible analogy but that's the best I've got.

Scone and hanny are the only media members with the stones to go after O in that scenario. The rest will creat some amazing excuses.

Umm that was a SEC rule that wouldn’t allow it. You might want to know what you’re talking about before talking.
