I'm actually a basketball fan first and football second. This year was the ultimate 'wait til next year' and Jones was a disaster. It's time to move on.

I hope you don't die too soon after GFY with a rusty spear.

Awwwww, it's cute. You're new here? Pro-Tip: don't take anything posted here personally or seriously for that matter. We've ALL become great at being trolls. We are passionate about anything having to do with LSU Athletics, so shut up and just enjoy the TD ride...
damn. Get off the internet soon kid, I bet Mom needs to use the phone.

Last but not least, YOU ALWAYS COMPLAIN ABOUT COACHING AS LSU FANS from Les to Paul to JJ to every damn body not named SKIP BERTMAN OR DALE BROWN. You wouldn't complain about YOUR FATHER = NICK SABAN until he went to Bama & won ships!
You're wrong. I complained about Dale Brown, too, probably before you were born, and with good reason. Deal with it.

First of all, I've been a fan since at least 1977 so I'm not a bandwagoner. But I'll respond anyway.
If Johnny Jones could not win the SEC regular season or SEC tournament and not have a top-20 team this year, he NEVER will.
He had the best FR in the country and (arguably) the second most talented group of players in the conference.
The SEC has only 2 marginal top-20 teams this year and a bunch of mediocre or worse teams.
Texas A&M has a once-every 8 to 10 year type team for them and UK has (arguably) its least talented overall roster of the past 10 years.
If it didn't happen this year it never will.

1st of all, YOU ALL are football & baseball fans first & foremost whom don't even like basketball
You are correct sir. The problem is the BB teams are just not good and not fun to watch.

So don't jump off the bandwagon until we see what happens NEXT YEAR
Are you kidding me?? Now you REALLY sound like a Saints fan.
How about this - I'll reconsider when they get a new coach. Otherwise, I'd rather watch paint dry.

"I'm not watching LSU basketball until jones is fired"
So... Back to normal before you heard of this recruiting hype?

You just started a thread about LSU needing better PG play. Why hasn't Johnny recruited better PGs? We haven't seen huge turnover at that position. I'm tired of hearing about how Johnny is such a great recruiter when we have such glaring holes on the roster. He brought in ONE great class due, almost entirely, to a family connection sitting on his bench. Without David Patrick, Simmons, Blakeney and possibly Sampson never put on an LSU uniform.
So, we have a coach who is lost during the game, can't develop talent worth a shite (as evidenced by all these "project" recruits you are talking about that haven't panned out) and is not an elite recruiter.
What are his strengths? Why is he here again?
Spot the frick On.
Thank god for Ben's godfather.

whom don't even like basketball because of that *cough* reason i can't say
Because it isn't as enjoyable a sport to watch in a leisurely atmosphere? Because there isn't much strategy? Because we don't like games with points in the triple digits?

Lsuandsuhoops7
the former is just blatantly not true. jones averaged top 20 talent over the last 3 years. don't say that recruiting rankings are flawed because there are plenty of coaches out there doing a lot more with a lot less.
the latter is only partially true. jones' time at lsu has proven to be directly in line with his mediocre 12 year resume before coming to lsu. he won 1 tourney game in 12 seasons at unt. other good coaches make noise in the tourney and move up the coaching ladder. jones, not so much. he's ultimately responsible for an epic collapse against an inferior nc st team and probably the most embarrassing season in lsu athletics history

Looks like you have hit about 290 nails on the head so far. I expect more to come...
