Last year

Quoted on some article by sources around him

He does have NFL aspirations

Maybe someone can find it but he definitely said it was like a goal of his or something

I like the guy but come on man. We are talking maybe about a d coordinator that has really no accomplishments against the best college football coach of all time that has fielded some of the most dominant defensive teams of all time.

not sure why this is relevant because he answered the question honestly when asked about HC aspirations

All the people that says he has higher expectations and wants to go to the NFL or be a head coach. Why would he leave LSU? he is set up perfect, all he has to do is coach NFL talent kids already. With Ed's salary being so low and Ed knowing Aranda is a big part of our success he could keep giving him raises and make almost with any other head coach makes. All Aranda has to worry about is coaching and teaching defense like he loves to do, to young men who want to learn. Not some overpaid contract negotiations NFL player who makes more than you in most cases. He will not have all the dealings with what comes with being a head coach. Just seems like he's a more family keep himself kind of guy

Where would Orgeron have gone if aranda had been hired as head coach?

Well, if they would have hired someone other than Coach O, such as Larry Fedora, for instance, then Aranda would have ended up at Texas with Tom Herman, because Fedora or someone else would have inevitably brought in their own coaching staff. Not to mention, that we would have lost that outstanding recruiting class Coach O also brought in last year.

Aranda wasn't going anywhere as long as Coach O was the head coach.

Meanwhile, had they offered the job to Aranda instead, he would have inevitably turned it down because he doesn't want to be a head coach. Aranda is a very quiet guy, he doesn't want to spend his time meeting with the administration, the press, the donors, the alumni, the high school coaches, doing coaches shows, the civic clubs, the public, etc. He wants to spend his time doing what he loves best instead, analyzing offenses and defenses and studying film. He says he loves working for Coach O and aspires to be like Coach Ensminger.

Hence, I think he is content and happy with his current situation and isn't looking to go anywhere.

If the Tigers make the CFP, Aranda will be gone with $4+ mil bait.

If Aranda has just as good or even better defense than last year the only way he leaves if he is determined to see if his can be as dominant in the NFL game. Money will be no issue if Aranda wants To stay at LSU and he keeps producing dominant defense, LSU will pay him more than most bottom SEC teams Pay their head coach

Probably would've thrown a hissy fit and quit like he did when Pat Haden passed him over. That's even after he was offered a raise to stay on.

He (allegedly) trashed Haden's office, even though he's a changed man. Maybe Alleva heard about that and was scared of O.

yeah I'm sure he aspires to be demoted to being a career position coach. good god.

youre just posting this ignorant shite to get out in front of the posters that rightfully think we shouldve offered Aranda the job instead of some position coach that was one of Aranda's underlings.

ed orgeron doesn't even have the 3rd best resume on his own staff.

Ensminger,Aranda, and Canada have all proven they can run a successful side of the ball.

yeah I'm sure staying to work for one of his underlings that has never proven he can actually run a defense looks better to aranda than working for a head coach that wasn't a huge failure.

Firstly...I agree the only coach O would take over him is saban.

Secondly, space cowboy is a ratard. Aranda will be an NFL DC or HC at some level 2 years. Hopefully lsu.

Sorry guys, but money being the same, coaches in the NFL are the best. They get 50 times more exposure than college.

He obviously wants to coach the best players against the best coaches, or he wouldn't have moved from wisky to lsu.

Next step up is the NFL. I actually can buy him not wanting to be a HC.

Stop fooling yourself

agree 100 percent.

saban is great yet still overrated as frick. he'd win anywhere but the ONLY reason he wins as much as he does now is because the REC buys him all the best players.

8 straight number 1 recruiting classes is more than Pete Carrol, Urban Meyer, and Miles ever had combined. there were times last year when all 11 spots on defense were made up of high school 5 stars, and most of them were upperclassman.

anyone can get complacent and someone can always sneak up on you if youre distracted, but saban should win every big game by 40, the pure talent alone dictates that.

yet he doesnt.
