Thats why he is a better coordinator than a head coach......he is brilliant in his own way.

I always said even when he was at LSU he's not HC material but he's a damn fine DC.
He's doing just fine as HC at Baylor, though. He may never be HC at a top program, but he's clearly capable of being a HC.

I will never understand the love some of you guys have for DA, a simple google search will show that LSU's final defensive ranking dropped every year he was at LSU (except maybe his first year. )

Maybe so, but all I know is that 2019 defense from the SEC Championship game to the National Championship was dominating opponents. Once LSU defense became fully healthy, it showed up and showed out.

Wow, I thought the exact opposite. He wasn't spewing out a lot of "coach speak" but real thoughts and emotions. Instead of throwing his players under the bus, he gave praise when it was due and empathy when it was not. I don't think he is a "genius" coach but he damn sure is an honorable, decent guy and that is hard to find in modern football. He served us well when he was at LSU, remember who was the DC when we won the national championship?, and I thank him for it and will always have a place in my heart for him.

He’s not a good public speaker.

Neither is Belichek, and for many years, neither was Saban

People who don’t think Aranda is a good defensive coach/coordinator/mind should be studied in a lab. Holy cow.

He’s not the most polished public speaker but he’s always sounded sincere, introspective, and interesting every time I’ve heard him talk. Speaking is about much more than cutting out filler words and projecting confidence.

Jesus this dude isn’t as smart as he thinks he is…I’m just not buying the genius vibe he likes to try to give off…doesn’t communicate well enough and seems to stumble while looking for the “perfect” word to finish his thoughts

There's a reason he was never a lead recruiter for us while here and why many people doubted his ability to be a head coach. He is really smart but is also quite the introvert

They've both always been fine at public speaking. Being assholes doesn't mean they weren't effective public speakers. They weren't engaging but they didn't sound uncomfortable, ever, in front of a microphone. You just knew they hated answering questions from reporters, mostly questions they viewed as stupid

He has the personality and the speaking ability of a piece of cardboard. He’s a good defensive coach, but I don’t see him being a head coach at all. Very poor communicator.
