I think pickoff attempts in college result in advancing the baserunner more often than an out.
Maybe. But their purpose is not to get an out.

Schmidt has looked great in his last couple starts!

The evidence is them taking easy first pitch strikes that should be crushed

It's interesting the pitching strategy being used against us which I believe has led to our lowering hitting numbers.
We take till we get a strike the majority of the time. So they just throw the 1st pitch over the plate no worries. I get why we do this as Jay loves to work pitchers deep and run their pitch count up to get to the bullpen
We also sit fastball so they throw offspeed/breaking ball 2nd pitch without much worry.
We fall behind and they pitch edges for K or weak contact.
If we would start swinging 1st pitch for select games where the starter has good control and throws a lot of strikes it would go along way to stopping teams from deploying this strategy and allow our hitters more favorable counts.

That's because it's between both. They're swinging at bad pitches and taking the meatballs they should be crushing. They are simply not seeing the ball right now and they are not barreling anything up.
Yesterday they took a first pitch strike almost every AB and not a single hitter adjusted to that. You can't do that. A lot of them were right down the middle.

You can now, they’re getting paid to play.

That shadow/light line right in front of home base isn’t ideal.
I was just about to mention that. Got to be pretty brutal right now with that shadow. However, Dartmouth seems to be seeing it better the past 2 innings than the previous 4.

Too early in the season to be dealing with the ‘tards.
And yet, here they all are.

I see the LSU bats are killing it again against this elite Dartmouth pitching staff.
I see you're still a retard.

If our offense is going that is fair.

I mentioned this yesterday it looked like it was impacting our hitters and it could be same thing today. In the first game LSU was hitting the ball hard it just didn't find gaps and they were fielding great.

I thought that was going to be fair coming off the bat.
