Ahh. You JUST missed that good QB you’re talking about. He literally just walked out the door.

He finished as the QB with the 16th highest QB rating. Better than 104 other division 1 QBs.

Took over for Brandon Harris and never looked back.
Proud of him.

Great to hear. I totally get it but miss the days when the players marched down, made eye contact and even gave a few high fives..now it's predominantly headphones and dark shades.

You couldn't be more wrong about Etling being below average - 16th ranked QBR playing on a team that had zero offense last year mid-season, a fired head coach and OC, followed by a new OC with a completely redesigned offense with complex shifts and patterns .......in a SEC Wesf division known for having the most physical defenses versus the pass-happy other conferences????

He's a very good QB who led this team in the midst of the toughest adversity in the past 20 years - THAT is the truth AND his legacy.

Great post. Thank you for that.

And there is a special place in Hell for all of you that have to include something negative in a post praising a player that gave all he had (and maybe more) to LSU.

Danny has given more to LSU than any of your negative fools ever have or will. I'm sorry that your lives are so miserable that you can't stand complimenting someone who is a thousand times a better Tiger than you are.

Danny, thank you for all you gave.

60.3% completion percentage
2234 yards
9.2 yards/attempt
14 TD
2 INT
155.3 Rating

I'll take those numbers all day long.

I believe that his skill set is better than people on this board gave him credit for. I think that the reciever corps was sub-par (for LSU). That Canada's system was not mastered by the other players, and there was some confusion on the field.

Exactly. And note the INTs.

Throwing 2 picks on 250 throws over the course of an entire season is not something to be ignored.

Did he put up video game numbers? No. But he was a huge part of LSU having a successful season.

An ill-timed interception here and there could have very easily cost LSU the Syracuse, Auburn, and Florida games.

Thank you
Captain Obvious.

Now I'd like your astute analysis of what is a well timed interception.
Also I'd like your list of big time program QB's that played a season with NO interceptions. I sort of doubt that there are very many.

WTH is your problem? I'm giving Etling a compliment.

His protection of the football won LSU games this year.
