Please understand that the following is coming from someone who generally doesn’t care for dual threat QB’s.

Daniel’s throws a great deep ball. His problem is that he hesitates too long and throws the deep ball late which allows his receivers to get to far down field. He doesn’t quite have the arm strength to overcome the late throw and get it out in front of the receivers which is why they have to slow up or turn around to catch it. This also allows the DB’s to get in better position to deflect passes.

When his timing is down and he throws on time he is actually very accurate. We already have multiple examples of these long TD passes in the last 3 games. He struggles with timing al year last year. This year has been much better.

Not last night. 3 absolute TD’s were missed and one TD was a great play by the wideout. Ball was under thrown by 2 seconds.

He’s ok at it. Better than this board gives him credit for.

he under threw most deep balls, our receivers kept having to stop and wait for it, thankfully our receivers got enough separation a few times that the corner couldn't catch up fast enough

He does seem to get fixed to his right side or maybe just doesn't recognize some breakdowns fast enough. Last night it was the TD to BTJ and last week was the under thrown pass to MN. Last night's TD was just luck to be honest.

He under throws every deep ball. Our receivers save him just about every time.

I still find myself yelling at the TV, “throw the ball”. I agree, JD can throw the deep ball. He just needs to get rid of it a half second earlier.

If they have to stop and signal for fair catch he can’t throw the deep ball

If he's holding it too long and under throwing receivers, that's not throwing a great deep ball.

When he actually realizes that his WRs are far superior to the DBs they are up against and he actually leads the WRs with his throws.

Love JD but his deep ball is like my deep ball in intermurals. He is always a second behind and makes the receiver slow down. His ball to Nabers was a really great throw but I watched Hilton wide open downfield 2 times last night and Jayden looked and didn’t fire. BTJ had to come back to catch his ball I mean stop sugar coating it lol

I watched Caleb Williams last night throw the exact same pass that JD threw that hit Nabers in the helmet. Only reason it wasn’t a td was the defender grabbed Malik’s right arm, which is why it hit him in the head. Yes the problem is he just has to let it go earlier.

We legitimately have one of the best qb’s in college football, he is lighting it up in the passing game, over 70% completion, and people bitch about him nonstop. He’s throwing the deep ball like everyone wanted, people still bitch nonstop. The defense is a problem, yet people bitch about him nonstop.

2 TDS’s were missed and yes the WR did make an awesome play. But from the end of the 2nd Qtr thru the end of the game his timing and accuracy were great.

Look, im not saying he is Joe Burrow or even close. But this board makes him out to be trash and I was simply trying to illustrate that he actually does throw a good ball. His problems have more to do with hesitation and timing. These things are easier to improve upon than accuracy and he has shown tremendous improvement from last year.

He has mediocre arm strength, but he’s a productive college QB.

Even on his two long TDs to Thomas, he under threw them massive with Thomas eithe wide open or 5 steps ahead of his defender. They were bad throws that Thomas adjusted to and made a much better play.

He underthrew all his long balls except one last night. This is not something new. Even against Grambling it was the same thing.

This is not saying he sucks, but it’s one of the biggest flaws in his game and if he can clean that up, he may be unstoppable.
