I remember people on this board in 2018 saying Burrow would only be a 50% passer for his entire career. Fast forward to 2019 and he almost sets a record for highest completion percentage in a season. QBs can make a big jump from their junior to senior years. It's been proven.

If Daniels gets the proper coaching like Burrow did, there's no reason to think he can't have similar results. I know Joe Brady isn't walking through the door, but Daniels is our best option for 2023. Let's hope another spring and summer will help him grow into a better passer. If he does, we will be in the playoffs next year.

People just need to realize it takes time. It’s hard to be heisman level in one year in a new scheme.

STOP

I’m not bashing JD, but he is what he is. Can he improve, sure, but he’s extremely limited as a passer.

But stop with this burrow comparison spin. JB worked his progression, made the right read (most of the time) and fired a laser to the WR face mask or wasn’t afraid to throw 50/50 balls. The WR didn’t help JB out at all…tons of Drops.

12 starts with new team. New receivers, new coaches, new scheme. The dude was what? 9-3 as lsu’s starter. Get off your high horse

Daniels is not Joe Burrow and it's completely unfair to JD to keep bringing this up.

Yes, for both.

Except one had way more experience in starting capacity before hand. Thousands of reps with teams best talent before getting here.

There is no comparison between the two.

You can’t logically expect Daniel’s to win every game this year. Would it have been awesome yes no doubt. The team itself had 39 scholarship guys a year ago. Still don’t have a full roster of scholarship guys. Next year will be better just have patience and enjoy watching the rebuild

The only thing I expect from a QB is to pass the ball well and often…. I also expect him to put team before pass completion percentages.

What other QBs on our roster would have us playing in the SECG with the talent on this team? Who else would have beat bama?

That was Burrows first year starting, Daniels has started 4 full seasons and has over 40 starts under his belt. He’s not going to suddenly learn how to read a defense and throw with anticipation. Daniels was a rental QB for a year, nothing more nothing less

Daniels is a 4 year starter. Burrow sat for 3 years and then played at LSU. 2 totally different situations. Daniel's is what he is.

Daniels is not going to be as good as Burrow. He's likely never starting in a Super Bowl. He's not a first-round QB. He's likely not a top-tier SEC quarterback, even at his best. However, he's not Andrew Hatch either. It is absolutely possible that he's neither the best in LSU history nor the worst. But he did win nine games, and he was very good in some, and very bad in others. One would think more practice, especially with his receivers, developing trust would help him.

I’ll say this, I was A Butrow guy in 2018 and I screamed Up and down the scheme was hamstringing him as a player.

That being said, I never Once predicted he would improve the way he did.

He threw almost 4x as many TDS as he did the year before, which is just insane.

I believe Daniels can improve but at the same time, consistency has always been his issue and this is his 4th year where he’ll look like a Heisman winner some games and maybe the worst QB of all time in others.

I do Think our allegedly amazing WRs are getting a free pass. Lacy drops 2 BIG first downs. Jenkins dropped what would have been a TD on a pretty well thrown ball.

You don't know this. Undoubtedly, he was our best option this year. And yes, he could potentially improve his down field passing next year. But we also have some competitive QBs who will make their presence known.

You better hope he makes his improvement over the 15 spring practices because he’s the same today as he was in spring game with a much improved line and ALL the reps with 1’s.

Serious question: How many starts does the man need to understand just what the heck is going on with the offense?

50? 60? 80? How many?

You people really need to fricking stop with trying to compare Daniels to Burrow. It's honestly insulting
