For reading, can anyone point me to something showing where they changed the consensus that candy is good for athletes during games? Last I saw was it’s bad to negligible for anyone not considered extreme endurance athletes. The study showed the quick glucose spike is met with a bigger crash. Would love to read more on it if it changed

Maybe he just likes sour skittles and he feels they give him some energy. I saw it live though, my nephew kills those, it was sour skittles.

I see that during the game and was wondering but hasn’t heard anything yet about the flu going around.

I think it may be something that they eat so much candy they are basically addicted to it so to go “cold turkey” during a game might be detrimental to them. I know that’s why some nba players have to eat candy during the game. They have withdrawal like symptoms if they go without it. There was a player that drank Mountain Dew during games as well because of this

So we eat sour skittles and drink hot chocolate during games? I will officially tap out and claim I am now an old man and just don’t get it

Good. Your thread melting about having hot chocolate on the sideline was odd as hell.

They also often serve chicken broth and orange slices to players during games. I wonder if that’s mind blowing to this guy as well?

IMHO I think a lot of the team was sick. BK looked sick in his presser on Thursday, as well as after the game.

I'm not sure how much, if any, it affected the team performance. I think Arky put together their best game plan and performance. They lost to Liberty and the players and staff felt that beating LSU was their best chance at silencing the negative talk. That said, not only did we win but held them to 10 points in such bad weather.

I know it sounds cliche' but it really is hard to win on the road in the SEC. Go look at the record of road teams this year.

I don’t get it either but it’s something they do and have been doing for awhile now.

My deal is the chicken broth. Kind of grossed me out. Do other people drink straight chicken broth?

Do we have any medical statistics guy here? The odds of just one member of the LSU football having the flu and playing with it are about 10 billion to 1

Perkins was sick too and he threw dudes around like a pit bull in a room full of kittens. He chewed up an aspirin and spit it out like "That does nothing for my appetite..."

You have never been a student athlete, right? "Chicken Broth"? Straight up everclear. You can go through walls before you hit the ground for the night.
