K’Lavon Chaisson

quote:

he played Class 6A ball and led the entire state with 15.5 sacks. When you think about how big the state of Texas is, and how good 6A ball is there, you quickly realize just how impressive that statistic is.

Under the direction of head Coach Ed Orgeron (who has always been a fan of applying extreme pressure to opposing quarterbacks) and defensive coordinator Dave Aranda (widely acclaimed defensive genius), it’s a good bet that Chaisson is a future All-American at LSU.

In yesterday’s comments to the Rotary Club, Coach O said that Chaisson will play as a freshman and that when Key is healthy you might see him at one end and Chaisson at the other. As Coach O said, those two “are gonna be tough to deal with.”

Clyde Edwards-Helaire

quote:

In my opinion, Edwards-Helaire might be the sleeper of this freshmen class. Because of his height (listed at 5-foot-8, 210 pounds), a lot of folks have overlooked him, but this cat is a player. And from what I hear, his work ethic is off the charts.

The word is that he really impressed in the summer strength and conditioning program and there are several indications that the staff is very high on him

When our friend Mike Detillier spoke with Coach O a couple of weeks ago, Orgeron quickly ran through each position on the team and spoke highly of Edwards-Helaire, leaving the impression that he might be more of an impact player this year than fellow backup running backs Nicholas Brossette and Lanard Fournette

I suspect some of you will be reminded of a former LSU running back of similar stature, Dalton Hillard (5-8, 204).

If they use him like Foster I don't think that will matter. He's more of a guided missile type LB IMO.

One thing I noticed in the CEH highlight video, aside from CEH himself, was that those Catholic High kids are great at blocking downfield. Pretty impressive.

The crazy part is that from those highlights, Chaisson has no idea what he is doing from a pass rushing technique point of view and he's still dominating folks. With Pete Jenkins and Coach O, the sky is the limit with this kid.

I'm really excited to see CEH play. I'm old enough to have watched Dalton Hilliard play and if he's anything like Dalton, he is going to be fun to watch. I think Canada will be able to find some creative ways to use this kid in his offense.

From what I've seen of Moses, he's nothing like Foster. Foster is intense and brutal, Moses is more speed and finesse.
