27 points to the Aggies??? That's embarrasing in itself!!!! If I was on the defensive team, I would post that in the locker room.

wont happen...LSU defense was gassed at the end of the season because of the poor offensive performance all year.

A month rest, injuries healed.....they will smoke the aggies

Spread option offense on artificial turf? I wouldn't be shocked if they score that many points, the question is can we turn around and score more?

Their QB can run, and they can run the option, but they are hardly a spread option offense. I've watched most of their games, they throw it a lot and run it right up the middle.

Okay, fair enough, I just watched the Oklahoma game.

It could happen easily the way the LSU defense gives up the big play. Not a problem. It is very likely that TAMU will not suffer from underestimating its opponent in the upcoming contest...

LSU is headed for a trap.

The last time we gave up more than 24 in a bowl game was on a hail mary as time expired in 2004.

Hell the only other time since then we gave up more than 20 was after a meaningless TD by Ohio St in the BCSNCG

A mobile QB with a good/great RB is kryptonite for our defense. Tannehill makes VERY few mistakes as well.

BUT, Les has a tendancy to prepare very well when he has a month to do so.

I expect a fairly tight game

Our defense plays soft and greatly struggle if the QB is mobile.

The defense was solid beginning of the year but was embarassing the last part. I know the scheme is the largest factor in the dropoff but the guys were dinged and tired too. I wish they would revamp the 4th qtr conditioning program.

I think if LSU tries to pass the ball, they will get their asses handed to them. LSU's OL will not be able to handle A&M's DL and Von MIller (Joker Position) on passing plays. If they ride Ridley, they will do very well and break A&M's defense down and control the clock. That will open up the playaction.

Also, A&M is a second half team, they make great adjustments at halftime, but LSU has a hell of a lot more depth, if the game is close at the end, or LSU is winning by more than a touchdown, HUGE advantage LSU. A&M won't lay down, but they don't have the depth to keep up.

B/c LSU will have to run the ball, they won't score a ton of points, but they can still win by a lot. I think Ridley is the key to this game. LSU needs to keep the fate of the game out of the qb's hands.

Then again it comes down to A&M actually scoring, which it is capable of. They have great wide receivers and a white boy (Ryan Swope) that sneaks into open spaces and creates a lot of big plays for them. If LSU holds them to field goals (they never go for it on fourth down or fake punts), LSU will win easily.

Yeah, cuz the defense was really shutting people down those last couple of games.

I don't think there's any amount of conditioning our D can do to prep them for as much playing time as they see in a game with out horrid offense.

.

Sherman's fairly aggressive - nothing like Miles, but I would never call him conservative. except during the NU game. We went for 4th 19x this year to LSU's 12.

I can't think of one fake FG though - I'd be shocked if he tried that.

Depending on your team's strengths, it may be the opposite. We're pretty good at rush D - 15th in the nation (we held Nebraska, #10 in rush offense, to 100 yards under their avg). Our pass D is atrocious, very hit or miss.

Truth. I think with all the time off we will see the defense and offensive line play better than we have all year.
