And they have an excellent coach.

Not even close bud. I discredited him from the draft when he said Irv Smith was the next Kellen Winslow. Those were the Cucos days on vets. Plus he said Leland McIlroy would break 2k yards.

can someone just start a "What do you think are LSU’s Five Toughest Football Games of 2025?" thread?

It will be the first 5 games....this team of returning players and transfers hasn't played a snap together against quality and non quality opponents. Its going to take 5 games for this team to gel on the field because they haven't been under duress as a unit yet or in critical situations. With clemson being the toughest out of the 5.

5) South Carolina
4) Florida
3) @ Ole Miss
2) @ Bama
1) Clemson
Reason for Florida is Lagway and this will be LSU first SEC game in game 3.

LSU’s Five Toughest Football Games of 2025
No. 4: Vs. Florida (Sept. 13)
It’s weird that LSU and Florida will play so early in the season, and this game is sandwiched between Louisiana Tech and Southeastern. LSU was a huge part of the Gators’ turnaround last season, as Florida wound up finishing the season with four straight wins. That also included a victory against Ole Miss. D.J. Lagway had his coming out party against LSU and finished his freshman season completing 60% of his passes for 1,915 yards and 12 touchdowns with nine interceptions. Undeniably, the strength of this Florida team is what returns up front. The Gators return one of the best centers in America in Jake Slaughter, along with stout left tackle Austin Barber. Four linemen return from a unit that allowed the third fewest sacks in the SEC last season. And Florida is the only team to land two players on the First-Team All-SEC preseason list at SEC Media Days.
We might be a little more bullish on Florida than some because the Gators have good quarterback play and maintain the ability to dominate the line of scrimmage. The offensive line credentials speak for themselves, but the Gators are talented along the defensive line, too. Caleb Banks highlights that unit, and Phil Steele has him listed as a Third-Team All-American heading into the new football season. The Tigers want to exert revenge after suffering a loss on the road against the Gators last season, but it won’t be easy. LSU’s new offensive line is going to get tested in the first few weeks of the season against strong defensive line units from Clemson and Florida. If Clemson exposes LSU up front, Tyreak Sapp and Banks are going to be licking their chops.

I been saying it on here this and Florida are the 2 bigger trap games people seem to be forgetting about because they're at home. Both these teams can sneak up on LSU at home. SC deservedly should've been in the playoffs last year.
They got absolutely rammed by the media when if they actually watched that team they had an argument about midway through the season to the end they were among the best looking team. Definitely looked top 5. Had they also did their job and realized their loss to LSU was due to their QB getting hurt. That game was looking like it might get ugly for LSU until he got hurt.
Knowing what we do now looking at the playoff teams, SC absolutely deserved a shot compared to some of the back end teams that went in. I don't know if the SEC is as dominant as it was in the past but there's definitely media agenda to prevent getting SEC teams in the playoffs.
1. Florida - People are putting WAY too much of what happened last year onto this year. Florida is nowhere near as good as people are try to hype them to be just because of what they did late last year. That game last year was a culmination of a few things. LSU was up on TAMU only for Nuss and the defense to completely blow it in embarrassing fashion. The Alabama game was completely demoralizing. For the fanbase, for the team, for everybody. Season was over for the LSU faithful at that point. Then we go ON THE ROAD, to a team that has lost the last 5 years to LSU. A team whose coach was basically out the door had he lost to LSU and then Ole Miss. They had a fire to win, LSU was just trying to find a meaning to the rest of the season. Think about it like this. Ole Miss had just beaten UGA by 18 only to go into the next week and lose to Florida? It's pretty obvious that momentum and emotion played an extreme part in the last few games.
IMO, LSU is going to dog walk Florida.
2. South Carolina - Yes, they have every reason to go beat LSU, but they are still just South Carolina. Whether they are good or bad, LSU always beats South Carolina. Whit knows he had a terrible game vs Sellers last year. Perk didn't even get to play. Our DL is superior compared to last season in run defense too. Sellers can throw, but he's still not polished. They'll more than likely make Perkins a spy and contain Sellers. Again, he's not Jayden Daniels passing the ball. He's not going to sit in the pocket dicing you up. Also, they just don't have the skill players for it. They have that big bodied fast guy, but that's about it. He isn’t a polished route runner himself. I actually think we could line the 6'4 freshman up with him and give him safety help. I remember Stingley going up against senior 6'6 Texas reciever Johnson and pretty much limiting him to 50 yards. Also, that defense is not the same one from last year.
LSU beats South Carolina by 17+

2. Bama. Until we actually start beating them consistently, they are going to be #1 or #2.
3. Arkansas. I HATE Arkansas after the Bama game. Losing or winning seems to still put us at a disadvantage vs them.
4. Oklahoma. Their team will be better. We'll be on the road, and it's the last game of the season.
5. TAMU. This would be #3 if this was in College Station. They will have a powerful run game and defense. If Marcel Reed improves his passing, this might be an extremely dangerous team. Their RB room is freaking legit as far as talent goes.
